Well, that didn't take long. On Monday, the NCAA football transfer portal opened for the 2025 season. That was the same day Tulane star freshman quarterback Darian Mensah entered the portal. On Tuesday, Mensah made his first visit to Duke University. On Wednesday, he committed to play at Duke.

Is Duke really much of a step up at all? Tulane had a better shot at the Playoffs this year than all but 3 ACC teams.

I've a childhood mate who was also born in London and moved to the states as a lad. He retained his British accent. I'll never forget him telling me that he was accepted to Duke.

"I've gotten into Juke, mate!" is what he told me, breathless with excitement. He wound up attending Virginia instead.

9-3 last year and an auto bid if they win the conference. With revenue sharing, it’s absolutely a step up

You think these portalers care about winning or making the playoffs? They have unscrupulous "agents" telling them and their parents how much money they can make at _______.

I guess I’m surprised Duke football boosters are that invested

They now have an extra $20MM that they didn’t have before?

Word is Dukes NIL is one of the best in the country. Murphy had a 3M offer to stay.

I’m not sure I believe that. I’ve read that he entered the portal because they told him they may bring in another QB. It’s all speculative so who knows, but I can’t imagine he’d leave with that number

From what I've heard via the rumor mill he's hooked up w/some super sketchy people who have recently become "agents" and they were talking to Duke for the last month of the season.

It would seem he is someone who puts a lot of weight on education in addition to football.

How much of their NIL is earmarked for basketball though?

According to Garland Gillen, his team was shopping him to SEC schools but couldn’t find any takers. He was also actively reaching out in the middle of the season so frick him.
