the product is bad and there’s too much parity (related issues)

they need to contract 4 franchises to get better concentration of talent, get rid of the salary cap, and bring back John Madden via AI

how is parity a bad thing?

if anything there isn't enough parity since the chiefs are b2b champs and 11-1

teams aren’t as good. no good guys or bad guys everyone is the same. don’t get as many playoff rematches so fewer real rivalries.

1),Cut down on commercials

2) Stop throwing so many flags

Game continuity is the biggest problem imo. shite is unwatchable

Man, that is college football. Pace of play is way worse than NFL and I'm a college guy all the way. Replay in college is shite, 4 hour games and OT rules are a joke.

Yep, this board complains nonstop about nfl play (yet, they keep watching) but college is in a bad place too. CFB is struggling just as much as the nfl

Prioritizing 7 on 7 over tackle football in Pee Wee has been the biggest reason quality football has declined over the last decade.

No one knows how to tackle, block, etc.

They will never do that

The NFL has no incentive to change anything except some rule changes here and there and extra games

They need better tech for games
They need better officiating (maybe hiring full time crews)
They need better development of players (like QB and OL) but that's more of a college problem

The problem is the trickle-up of dual threat QBs. Most are not good passers. This is reflected in the abyssal passing numbers, which have seen a steady decline in the past ten years.

1. remove helmets
2. add belted flags

ETA:

The idea of removing helmets from the NFL has been discussed by some as a potential solution to reduce the risk of head injuries and concussions. While there are valid concerns about player safety, there are also significant challenges and uncertainties associated with such a drastic change.

Arguments For Removing Helmets:

Reduced risk of concussions: Helmets may provide a false sense of security, leading players to tackle more aggressively and increasing the risk of head injuries. Without helmets, players might adopt safer tackling techniques.

Increased emphasis on tackling technique: Rugby-style tackling, which focuses on shoulder and body contact, could become more prevalent, potentially reducing the number of head-to-head collisions.

Potential for more finesse-based gameplay: Without helmets, teams might focus on speed, agility, and quick decision-making, leading to a more dynamic and exciting brand of football.

Get rid of divisions and the top 8 teams in each conference go to the playoffs.

You could probably get rid of a few franchises. Good players are too spread out and if you bring down the number of teams they all get better. Darnold looked like shite everywhere he went same with Baker until they got around a more talented team.

Too many shite QBs too who will suck no matter where you put them.

Get rid of every "player safety" rule enacted since 2000.

You want to fix the NFL I know exactly how to fix it. Get rid of shitty owners. There's a reason certain teams win a lot and certain teams in a league designed for parity are at the top of the draft year after year. There are certain owners that don't give a shite about winning. Sure if their team wins they like it but they're not going to win consistently because the organization isn't set up to.

1. Eliminate this idiotic kickoff rule.
2. Games are played in the United States of America exclusively.
3. Overthrow Goddell and install a new commissioner.
4. Eliminate the salary cap. We are a capitalist society. If one owner wants to spend 500M a year on his team’s salaries and has the monies to do so, let him. This will make other owners either step up or sell their teams to someone that will to stay competitive.

The woke shite is now ending for the next four years at least. This is one net positive of the NFL experience.

Small thing that irks me: why the frick does a team have to declare that it is going to attempt an onsides kick?

Because it creates a totally different scenario than the normal kickoff now
