Half the fan base would demand he play blindly and the other half hate him and demand he be traded or replaced.

Then you would have Deion using ESPN, media and maybe even race to say he is the best and should be the starter and attacking the organization.

Then there is the fact he has never had to compete and earn his way on to a team or a starting and leadership role. Deion has always found a way to become his coach and appoint him to every role he had. The kid has never faced adversity as it’s been given to him.

Shedeur isn’t even remotely that polarizing. I don’t think everyday fans are very impressed with sanders at all. Tebow had way more skins on the wall and intangibles sanders clearly lacks

I really don’t understand this comparison at all.

Yes. I just posted in another thread before seeing this post.

The comparison is not their skill levels. Rather, the comparison is that both bring an off field level of interest that casts a shadow over what they can contribute.

Yeah it's a dumb take. His game didn't translate to the NFL but no one questioned his greatness in college. Even die hard delusional LSU fans like me knew he was that dude you wanted on your team.

I think a more likely comparison is going to be Kaepernick and Shedeur. The “sides” will be saying roughly the same things about the two.

Tebow was not a locker room issue. He spent his fair share of time being quiet and taking a backseat, the exact polar opposite of Shedeur.

Tebow was one of the greatest college QB’s ever

Sheduer went 13-12 and 0-1 in bowls

So, no

I was not referring to his football skill set or infield accomplishments.

I was referring to the fan bases. Tebow had a legion of loyal fans. If a team took him on and then cut him they piss off a large number of loyal fans, if they don’t start him once he’s on the team they piss off a large number of fans.

It’s a lose lose for the organization because either way they are attacked by their own fan base.

Even if Shedeur was quiet, you’d still have to deal with Deion and the apparently significant group of Shedeur fans who are going to lambaste every decision you make that isn’t a Shedeur first decision.

Which is basically what Tebow brought with him. Just switch out claims of religious discrimination with racial discrimination and that’s the circus each brings.

Tebow dominated the SEC at its peak, Shadeur didn’t even win a bowl game in 2 years.

I’m not trying to take anything away from Tebow. I like the guy. For whatever reason, he was not what the NFL wanted in a qb. I was rooting for him.

But through no fault of his own, the dude brought with him a huge pain in the arse in the form of a unique fan base that caused division wherever he went.

Yeah I think with the right overall team he could have fared better. But his mechanics and release didn’t significantly improve from college to pro, not enough to where even fractions of a second make all the difference.

It was a different era in the NFL, guys like him & Pat White would’ve been treated differently today IMO.
