Up 33% from last year and most since 2018. Yes, even more than Tiger's win in 2019. Love them or hate them, Rory and Bryson move the needle far more than anyone else currently in the game.

Rory has proven to be the only needle since Tiger (not nearly as big as Tiger though)

quote:

The final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am averaged 3.3 million viewers(up 73% from last year). CBS reported that it was the most-watched PGA Tour final round on any network since the Players Championship last March.

quote:

The Players Championship TV ratings saw an increase for the final round and the three-hole playoff on Monday. Sunday's final round averaged 3.6 million viewers on NBC, up from 3.5 million the previous year. The peak viewership on Sunday reached 6.2 million, an 18% increase from the 6 million recorded in 2024.

His wins this year have produced 73%, 33%, and 18% increases in viewership

Barely, and that round was moved up a lot due to weather.

The fact it was down to the wire also helped.

Both players were going shot of their life to bogey then amazing putts and choke putts. It was fantastic theatre regardless of the play names.

Oh & Rory started the day only 3 shots back, but shot a 74

Loved it when he holed out from the fairway and the crowd barely reacted. He's not well liked.

Also helped that it was a rematch essentially of the US Open on top of Rory going for history. Masters couldn't have hand picked a better story line to drive viewership.

I guess everyone must’ve tuned in to see Rory lose in 2018

That or Fowler was second that year. People would've wanted him to get his first major.

This year’s Sunday annihilated Sunday 2019. Not even close.

Uh, what?

Average Viewership:
10.8 million viewers.
Peak Viewership:
18.3 million viewers between 2:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m. ET, according to Yahoo Sports and Reuters.

quote:

CBS reported that the final round averaged more than 12.7 million viewers, which was up 33 percent over 2024's final round. What really pops off the screen is the viewership peak, as 19.543 million fans tuned in from 7 to 7:15 p.m. ET.

Peak viewers in 2025 was less than 7% higher than 2019, and had the benefit of not being early due to weather. That's not annihilation IMO. I'll give the 15% higher average viewership, but again, 2019 was moved up to early early morning on the west coast. That has to be considered.

It is because people either love him or hate him. Not many guys like that in golf.

The “hate him” only exists in internet troll land

Reports from everyone on grounds at Augusta said it was clear the gallery was for Rory from the jump Sunday. For him to be clearly the fan favorite even over Bryson says something

CBS pretty much stopped showing Bryson the last 8 holes because he was so far back. The theatre was from Rose charging and Aberg making it really interesting. Rory and his derp chip into the water made it way more interesting than it should've been.

The reaction to Rose's birdie on 18 shocked me. People went nuts.

Scheffler was also in the mix, and it’s not like Justin Rose is an unknown…

Oh go ahead and turn this into a pride LIV thread. It's so very obvious that's where you want to go.

We just need to ignore all the cheers Bryson got on Saturday after he drained the birdie on 18 and all the cheers he got when he took the lead for a moment early Sunday.

I’m literally saying fans love Bryson

Which is why Rory being the gallery favorite over him says the “hate” is more of an internet troll phenomenon
