his contract is 4 years.

It's guaranteed for 2 years, with an option for a 3rd and a dummy fourth year. So essentially it's a two year contract with an option for a 3rd.

It is only a four year contract in name only.

They went about convoluted, but the Falcons essentially 1. Solved their QB for the next decade, and 2. Are betting on themselves that they will win enough games that they won't be in this position to be high enough to draft a QB for the foreseeable future, which is risky, but that's the game they're playing. Which is why they took Penix now.

My philosophy on QB's is far different than most nowadays. The thing now is we invested a 1st rounder in him, he is going to play and play early if not right away. I am different, I think the high fail rates of QB's is partly because they are thrown in the fire too early. What is wrong with bringing a guy along slow?

Agree with this.

Raheem Morris is a terrible coach, he proved that in Tampa.

This is a bad take.

He won 10 games his first year and then the Glazers decided to strip the roster down to the studs and left Morris out to dry. Can't do jack w/o any players

I think everyone knew that. The big deal is basically saying you’re probably not surviving for you entire contract to the guy that you just paid a bunch of money too

Sign a qb for $180 mil.

Then draft a qb with the 8th pick.

As a Saints fan, I think it’s great and I’m very happy with it.

I’ve never been a Falcons fan even though I live one state over, my team always has been and always will be the Raiders (“Just win baby”), but I have always kind of wanted them to do well and if I am wrong and they make this work, more power to them.

Watched Penix play and could not discern the nature of his mechanics; plus, he is not very mobile - at all.

But he delivered the ball against some fairly pathetic defenses.

If he amounts to anything I’ll be surprised. Could wind up being the Phil Niekro of the NFL, I suppose…

Penix is 23 and will be 24 before the season starts
Daniels will be 24 in December. Not much difference in age. Nix is already 24. The NFL doesn't care about age. They're looking for production. Out of the 6, all could bust. Better to know sooner rather than later.

I live in Atlanta and I don’t think I have ever seen a single person ever wearing anything about Michael Vick. Ever.

Why do LSU fans keep dogging Penix? Daniels won the Heisman, why not move on from Penix and let him turn out like he turns out?
