5 series with Wilson. 1 first down.

Fields still the dogshit player he always has been.

quote:

It's been a rough go at it for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense this preseason. The Steelers have scored just 15 points through two preseason games, with just three of those points taking place with Justin Fields on the field. Russell Wilson, who made his season debut on Saturday night against the Bills, was unable to lead a scoring drive during his five series of work.

When asked to assess his quarterbacks following Saturday's 9-3 loss, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin essentially said that he was unable to.

"It's somewhat of an incomplete study because you just don't get a chance to see them operate or us operate or us establish rhythm and personality when you're not winning possession downs," Tomlin said, via NFL.com. "And we weren't. The first three or so series of the game, it was three and out, and you're not going to get an opportunity to establish rhythm or play the way you'd like as an individual or a collective.

If he gets beat out by Fields he’s done.

Although in Pittsburgh, he’ll probably be the starter again after field starts the regular season 0-3 or 0-4.

Then he’ll get benched again for Fields later in the season

When you have a washed up Wilson and a bust as his back up with Arthur “let’s ignore our best player” Smith as the OC you shouldn’t expect anything less or I guess more

Without looking it up, I’m willing to bet Russell Wilson by far has the highest sacked per game of any qb over 100 games.

I'm a Steeler fan and it was ugly all around; but pretty much what I've come to expect from this coaching staff. I think Wilson was sacked three or four times in the first two drive. I thought, maybe he was holding on to the ball too long, but nobody was open and the O-line was flat out terrible. Broderick Jones was a turnstile.

All that said, if the Steelers had Wilson instead of Pickett last year, they would have done much better... and that is just painful to think about.

Now, everyone seems to think Fields was the answer; meanwhile he was three inches away from throwing three picks and the only reason he looked somewhat good was he ran it a few times.

Overall, just awful.

I’m convinced that Tomlin refuses to blow it up and reboot the roster because he wants to make it to 20 seasons without ever having a losing record before he just hangs it up.

They’ve been wasting elite defensive talent because of tomlin’s hubris.

How much are the Broncos paying Russell Wilson to not be on their team this year?

watching that clip, it looks like the Steelers' have bigger problems than just Wilson. Their OL was garbage. When he had time to throw, he didn't look horrible, but those linemen were being manhandled and pushed into Wilson immediately in half the plays on that clip.

Most of which is his own doing.

The Tomlin era feels like it’s winding down. It will be incredible if they win 7-8 games this year in my opinion much less a winning record. This should be a bottom 3-4 offense in the NFL

Having a hard time finding the stat but he certainly has been sacked a lot for the amount of games he's played.

Sack % gives you some idea. He has an 8.5 sack % rate. Which puts him at 161st out of 203 qualifying QBS. The only active QBS with a worse rate are Daniel Jones (incredibly bad offensive line his entire career), Desaun Watson, and Tyrod Taylor.

Its not Tomlins fault if the talents not there.Just like the Saints, the front
office isnt getting the job done. The HC always take the fall for the incompetent GMs.
Tomlin has been a very good coach but the last few years they havent had
as much talent as in the past, especially QB.The Saints are in the same boat.
Everybody blames DA and MT but you cant make chicken salad out of
chicken shat.

I mean it kind of is. They need to punt on a season. Clear out back contracts, get some good draft picks and go from there. He refuses to do the obvious. I’m generally a guy who believes you should do everything you can to put out the best, most competitive team you can year in and year out but sometimes you have to sacrifice one season to help you build the best roster for your next 5-6 after that.

Wilson the most overated players in the history of the NFL. He was carried by that great D in Seattle. Other than that what has he really done except fail.

No argument from me. Glorified athletic game manager. Once his athleticism went and the defense wasn’t top 5, he showed who he really is.

It’s kind of amazing that this is a teams planned recipe for success

What are Russ's MVP odds this year? May have to bet the family farm on this and get some more generational wealth going.
