Second biggest comeback in Sweet Sixteen history

Where in the NCAA tournament does this rank in the history of choke jobs?

Using my terrific logic skills, I would say second

Memphis vs Kansas NC was the biggest I remember.

I was watching the other games and every time I saw the score in the corner, it seemed like they were up 10+. I had no idea they lost until I heard it this morning. That has to be a heartbreaker.

yeah, I turned it off because it didn't seem like Texas Tech had much of a chance. Checked the score right before bed.

Arkansans got lazy and Tech never quit.
By time Arkansas realized it was a game again they were shook and never regained their composure.
Tale as old as time with big comebacks.

Aggie vs Northern Iowa was a big one.

would make sense with his coaching philosophy late game.
Uses lightning fast offense and quick sets for 30+ minutes...then sits on the ball late game when he has a lead. That would work if your team could actually shoot free throws and box out on the other end.
People forget that he almost blew the NC in 2012 but AD bailed him out. I think they had a 15 point lead cut down to 3 in the blink of an eye

He should get an award.

Northern Iowa blowing a 12 point lead with :44 left against A&M a few years ago is up there with anything I've ever seen. Those guys completely forgot how to inbound the ball.

Zona was up 15 with less than 5 minutes to go on that great Illini team in the Elite Eight in '05 before blowing it.
Same round same year, WVU (Pittsnogle team) was up 20 in the 2nd half against Louisville before they lost. I don't remember WVU really "blowing" it either, honestly. It's not like they went cold. UL just staged a freakish comeback.
That was also the year that Sparty/Kentucky went to 3OTs or something.
Wisconsin/UNC was the other game in that E8 and although it wasn't terribly memorable, UW did play UNC closer than anyone else in that tournament.
Best regional final weekend I ever watched.

Same stupid coach and same scenario. Foul when you're up three and force them to take two free throws. He literally did not learn his lesson from 19 years ago.

They let Federiko^2 get 6 offensive rebounds on a single possession. When I saw that last night, my thought was Arky doesn't deserve to win this game due to that possession alone.

Same crap, different school.

It's right behind R-Kansas choking away the college world series.

Arkansas and the Aggies could make a good living being choke artists.

Best regional final weekend I ever watched.
2019 had four classic games:
-Michigan State beats Zion's Duke 68-67
-Auburn beats Kentucky in overtime
-Virginia ties Purdue on a miracle shot at the buzzer and then beats them in overtime
-Texas Tech upsets Gonzaga 75-69, pulling away with free throws in the final 20 seconds.
That might have been the best tournament I've ever watched in general:
-Duke won two games in a row because their opponent missed point blank tip ins at the buzzer before the aforementioned one point loss to Michigan State.
-Virginia needed miraculous shots at the end of their Elite Eight, Final Four, and National Championship games. They made all of them, and won all three amazing games. I don't know if there were 10 basketball players on planet earth who would have stepped up to the line and knocked down those three free throws like Kyle Guy did against Auburn.
-Carsen Edwards put Purdue on his back and beat Tennessee before very nearly upsetting Virginia.
