If the NCAA is ordered by a court to “reinstate” Sorsby, is the any reason for the NCAA to even exist?

There is already little reason for the NCAA to exist. They are powerless. But if a court over rules the NCAA on this, then the courts are to blame here...not the ncaa.

It’s funny to watch the NBA pregame and it’s all about prop bets.

They had an arrest this year of a bench player who faked an injury to go under 14.5 points or something earlier this season.

The court will not do a thing.

The Playoff Committee is separate from the NCAA, so this may not work. But could the Committee just say we’re not putting Texas Tech into the playoffs from playing a player ruled ineligible by the NCAA? Would that work?

I guess this needs repeating.

This isnt like other transfer, pro athlete, 6th year, etc. loopholes with no precedent. The NCAA has very cut and dry rules that Sorsby clearly broke. They already have precedent set banning athletes for breaking it.

This is not a situation where they can simply file a suit and change things.

Agree.

I have zero sympathy for this guy. If he hadn't been caught, he would have gone to Texas Tech and kept doing the same thing. There are consequences for stuff like this and, in this particular case, the consequence fits the crime.

He will likely never play in the NFL. I wouldn't want him on my team if I was an owner or GM anyway. Lacks respect for authority and has an unearned sense of entitlement if he thinks a lawsuit should prevent the NCAA from enforcing its rules against him.

This was not an isolated instance of poor judgment. This was a substantial lapse by a person who knew the consequences.

I’m betting that he isn’t reinstated on polymarket.
