Ida really did a number on the team last year. Even with that, they almost beat Oklahoma in their "home" opener.

One man, Ellis Johnson, completely fricked USM football and they have never really been the same

Can't wait for Tulane to smack Ole Miss around next year in the season opener.

Didn’t Baylor or UCF have some kind of massive turnaround as well?

UCF went from winless to undefeated but it took 2 seasons to do it. Still impressive though

I can't believe Tulane just beat USC to win the Cotton Bowl. That sentence doesn't seem right.

Auburn went 3-9 in 2012 then was a 4th quarter choke from winning the title in 2013

I’m a lot bigger on the 12-2 and the Cotton Bowl W than the “turnaround.”Hurricanes mess us up. We would have won 6 or so last year.

Last year was probably 8-4 without the hurricane and all the injuries IMO. This year just confirms there was talent on that 2-10 team since it was basically the same squad plus a few transfers

And next year they'll suck again and all will be forgotten

That's the thing with Tulane: they might break through and have a great season now and then, but can they sustain success over an extended period?

You'll see more of this with the portal.

For traditional turnarounds that surpass it.

1939 Stanford went 1-7-1.

Stanford hired a new coach.

1940 Stanford went 10-0, won the Rose Bowl and finished #2 in the nation.

We kept Fritz, Michael Pratt is coming back, and recruiting has been really solid, so it’s not a stretch to say Tulane will be good again.

Tulane supposedly went all in on using analytics to hire its assistant coaching staff recently.

So did Oregon State and they both kicked the shite out their schedule this year and beat fast superior talent in bowl games.

I brought my son there this summer and got to tour the facility (and kick)…that place was run like a clock. They met us at the damn door and every person, players and staff, had heads up and wanted contributors. No surprise from me.
