They don’t have other sports.

It's all they care about and they clearly make really good hires. It's also very close to the NYC metro area so talent should never be an issue.
They're basically like the Georgia or Texas of Football as far as recruting grounds.

They're a basketball school with lots of money in the NYC area that have hired good coaches

They’re insane.
They came from nowhere to largely dominate the sport over the last 25 years. Kevin Ollie won a national championship at UConn. He makes Orgeron look like Lombardi.

They are actually good in a bunch of sports. Baseball has been in a regional 7 out of the last 10 years with 2 super regional appearances. Soccer is also good there

Close proximity to nyc, Philly, etc. Plus Calhoun and Hurley build teams around strong atheltic nba prototype point guards which incidentally often come from the NE region.

There are a few others they are good at, just didnt want to name them all. Last year they played in a bowl game, won the bball national tie, and played in a regional.

West Philadelphia is a hotbed for basketball talent.
Kids there spend most of their days on the playground, chillin' out, maxin', relaxin' all cool, and shooting b-ball outside of the school.

5-0 in title games is Powerball winning stuff.
A couple of those I remember they had no business winning, Kentucky a decade ago for 1.
