Yes, but I think Ngannou was willing to die on the sword for other fighters and try to change pay and benefits. That I can respect. Maybe he knew he had the huge boxing payday and he didn’t need to money.

thing is....for the most part they shouldnt be paid much more. Pretty obvious just from the other fight orgs that paying much more doesnt work

i could argue bonuses should be larger but from what i understand they are given non contract bonuses quite a bit when they perform

I’ve never heard of those ‘rumors’ though

I think that guy was implying that you were just making shite up to go along with your preconceived notions about Francis. And tbh you kinda proved his point

i dont think it works like that

Sure it does. If he’s the champ & Islam gets the title shot, then Belal would vacate & prob retire. He’s already got a future in the booth

was going off what dana said as i mentioned in this thread earlier.

i have no preconceived notions that any of the fighters are actually good people.

He’s just parroting what Dana said about Francis back in October.

There’s a whole Joe Rogan podcast with Francis that I listened to, so I know what his side of the story is

To be perfectly fair, I don’t believe ANYTHING that’s said publicly about behind closed door negotiations

Neither should you. Picking one side to believe seems foolish in my opinion

We can debate that and I might not disagree, but it’s totally understandable why fighters wouldn’t feel that why and having a huge star be your mouthpiece is how changes actually happen. Whether he’s right or not, I can respect him taking a leadership position for the sake of other fighters knowing it would cost him money

So just making shite up, got it

Rogan had Ilia on his podcast last week and said he talked to Dana and Dana wants Islam to move up to fight Belal IF Belal beats JDM. Not sure if he’d still want him to move up to fight JDM, not as interesting a fight IMO. Khabib dosent want him to do it because of their friendship with Belal. He made it sound like Khabib holds a lot of power into the decisions the Dags make.

Ilia also told Joe he’s not settling for a contender fight at 155 (Oliveira). He’s moving up to fight Islam and he’ll wait him out as long as he has to

Rumor in the OP is that Ilia is fighting for the title at UFC 317. Id expect it to be Islam, but it’s possible he is moving up & Ilia is fighting Oliviera for the belt

I know he probably wouldn't win but my god I want Oliviera to get another shot. One of my all time favorites.

Dricus posted today the rumors were false about the injury and the Khamzat fight was never made. WTF is going on with UFC.

Also this week, Netflix negotiations are rumored to have broken down.

The three fights every fan of the sport isn't going to get made after being so close last week. Frustrating as hell.

It came straight from the CEO of Netflix's mouth....

I read what he said. Thing is UFC wants 1 billion for rights to the PPVs, Netflix and all the other services wants to pay less so Serandos is going to say he's not interested positioning for a lower price. Plus they have ties with TKO with Raw. I still think Netflix is the likely home.

The fact that Gane would be considered for a interim title shot tells the complete story

Gane is hot garbage. He totally lost that fight to Volkov.

frick it...make it happen Dana so Scrappy Doo will shut the frick up. Dude is acting like he's prime GSP already.

Also, it's actually insane how Jon Jones is being pandered to. Aspinall just needs to forget about him and fight as much as possible...this two active champion situation is untenable.

I'm ready for Prates and Garry this weekend!

Ilia Topuria will be fighting for either the UNDISPUTED or VACANT lightweight title at #UFC317 on June 28th

The idea Dana will force Islam to defend against Ilia or drop the title but not force Jones to defend against Aspinal is bananas. The heavyweight division has two active, defending champions.

It's insanity.
