Very dumb question about NIKE uniforms in sports

Sorry for the dumb question but I see some uniforms in basketball, football or whatever that wear NIKE uniforms but some unis have the swoosh logo and some have the Air Jordan logo
My dumb question is do teams determine which NIKE logo they want on their jersey or are there like 2 different levels for wearing whichever type of NIKE logo? Like they are two different tiers?
Reason I bring this up is I watched a bowl game the other day where one team was wearing the Swoosh logo and the other team was wearing the air Jordan logo on their uniforms. I was just wondering how they determine which team wear which NIKE logo

Nike has a handful of Jordan brand schools. Schools don’t choose as much as they do whatever is in their contract.

One is sponsored by Jordan Brand, One by Nike.

A select few teams are likely offered or ask/prefer Jordan brand for marketing purposes.
Michigan was one of the first ones basically because Derrick Jeter is a big Michigan guy and he is and always has been a Jordan brand guy and buddy with MJ.
Ultimately, theyre both Nike and owned by Nike, but MJ gets a cut of the Jordan sales. Michigan did it to stand out as some kind of 'look at us, we get Jordan stiff, not regular old Nike.'

I don’t think one is more prestigious than the other. As major schools like LSU, Bama, Georgia. Ohio State have Nike sponsorships. And in college basketball, Duke, UConn, UK, and Michigan State do as well.
However, besides UNC which has a pretty obvious reason for having Jordan brand sponsorships, I’m not sure how schools like Michigan are assigned to one brand or the other.

Be a cold day in hell before you see UK with a Tar Heel on their uniforms. Thats how we decided.

it is odd seeing the "Jump Man" plastered all over football gear.

nike has shite uniforms, clothing, and shoes
that is all you really need to know, and they still use and abuse 9 year old kids for slave labor.

They actively participate in DEI so it is all good.

My question is, how tf did Florida get the Jordan brand deal?

What do you prefer? Adidas? Under Armour?

Thought I saw where LSU will be a Kobe branded school soon. I think it’s just basketball but I could be wrong.
Edited to add it is just basketball. And the 6 teams are: LSU, UCONN, Kentucky, USC, Oregon, and DOOK.
Six Kobe Schools

Why not?
Huge brand, big fanbase. Championship success in both football/basketball. They were looking for a school in each conference, and UF has had a great relationship with Nike over the years. It's not really that surprising IMO.

I agree, but technically the “Air Jordan” brand is a separate entity from Nike, so those schools are sponsored by Air Jordan, not Nike.

Some schools have bigger contracts with Nike. Much bigger.

Texas ($16.6 million a year), Ohio State ($16.8 million) and Michigan ($11.6 million) reportedly have the richest agreements with Nike. But most deals fall in the $2-$5 million range annually, according to a recent report from Yahoo Sports. Memphis' contract with Nike also includes incentive-based cash bonuses

I ordered a Nike hoodie, and within a month it starts falling apart at the seams. I reach out to them to send me a new one, upon which I'd return the defective one, and they refuse to send a replacement until I returned the damaged goods. It was the only hoodie I had for that time, why should I suffer for their mistake?
I left a review about their poor QC and customer service, and the review never got posted. I REFUSE to buy their goods ever again

PSG has been having the swoosh on their home and away jerseys then the Jumpman on their third. That's more confusing to me.

The basketball and football teams use the Jordan brand on their uniforms. The other sports use regular Nike. You can buy fan gear in either Jordan or Nike.
