What is Arik Gilbert up to these days?

This kid had so much talent and could have made millions playing football for a long time, but I guess the demons in his head won. Just watched an old LSU game and saw an athletic TE, which made me immediately think of him.
What is he up to these days? If I had to guess, I would say in jail or a mental hospital (and I'm being serious).

Transferred a couple of times. It’s a shame: I believe he set some freshman TE receiving records at LSU. All he had to do was stay out for two years and keep doing what he was doing and he’d have no worries right now.

This is the last thing I ever heard about him.

Will end up in jail or dead if he doesn't get his mental disorder(s) under control.

He left Nebraska last year after he was arrested. Doesn’t seem to be on another roster.

Damn, he used cement from the parking lot to break that glass.

Robbing stealing and vandalizing probably. His mental health makes him do it.

Arik Gilbert, 21, pleaded no contest Tuesday to first-degree criminal trespassing and criminal mischief and was fined $400. Prosecutors initially charged Gilbert with burglary - a felony - but amended the charge to trespassing this week. Gilbert was also ordered to pay $450 in restitution to the shop.
Surveillance video obtained from SJ’s Liquor and Vape at 27th and O Streets shows a man, later identified as Gilbert, breaking into the store around 2 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2023 and rummaging through the merchandise. Large cement pieces from a nearby parking lot were used to break the glass to the front door, according to police.
Police said Gilbert stole $1,600 worth of items, including vape products, Delta 8, cigars and lighters. In the surveillance video, Lincoln Police officers can be seen waiting at the door, where the suspect was put in handcuffs.

Guys love to talk about the struggles of young adults on this board. Why though?

Dude could have been Evan Engram in the NFL and blew it. I had sympathy for the mental health issues but not once he started committing crimes.

I give him 4 to 5 years before he is arrested for murder.

The mental disorder was a story made up for the media when he had major issues with synthetic marijauna his freshman year at LSU. Everyone continues to run with it though .

My question is was this dude seen as a sporadic loose cannon in HS too? Or did he actually have a mental breakdown and his personality changed drastically?
I think there’s a difference between someone whose actions suddenly changed and someone who is just a piece of shite person.

Had forgotten all about him and this is just sad.
From a football perspective he had a lot of TE talent. A lot. But IRL, he's the sequel to Cecil and Perrilloux all in one.

Such a sad story. He would have easily been a first round pick with his talent but couldn't put things together mentally.
