Right now he’s got 60 catches for 757 yards and 8 touchdowns offensively and 20 tackles 2 interceptions and 7 pbu’s. The defensive stats aren’t staggering because people don’t throw at him often. My question is which side of the ball does he project more to at the next level?

Well, I predict he forces a team of his choice and a position of his choice that pays him the most guaranteed money with the least amount of effort

WR, with spot duty as a CB (Julian Edelman ftw).

Wrs are a dime a dozen commodity particularly in the NFL. Guys with potentially elite capabilities at CB aren't.

Hunter is no JJ lol. His past few games have been very pedestrian at wr.

he had 152 yards and 2 TD against Cincy.

11 WR make more than the highest paid cb

And? He should pick the position that makes way more money right?

There are 5 CBs that make an avg of $20M+ per year (6 more that make about $19.5M). None of them make $25M+. Meanwhile there are 23 WRs that make $20M+ per year with 11 of them making north of $30M/year.

WR should be a no brainer choice

He should focus on CB, but I think he wants to play wide receiver

WR's are more valued, hence why they get paid more.

seems to me that good corners are harder to come by than WRs. Maybe that is just my college football fandom showing

i wonder how much value fantasy and merch sales drives these WR contracts

Why can't he play with both sides of his balls?

Corner play is a lot less consistent, even for the top guys which has stunted the market a bit more. Very few guys that are shut down dudes year over year or even game over game.

Also WRs are directly connected to the golden goose of the franchise, the QB, so that has played as much a part as any in the WR market exploding. Teams use the money saved on rookie contracts to splurge on things to make that rookie successful

Also just in general it’s easier to scheme around having a bad corner defensively than it is to be a successful on offense without an elite weapon

He ranks in the top ten in FCS in Receptions, Yards, and TDs. If you include only Power 5 receivers, then he’s in the top five in those categories.

That’s impressive for a DB.

My guess is he will lean towards wanting to play wide receiver, but Gms will want him to play cornerback.

He's very talented, don't get me wrong. But he doesn't seem to be an absolute game-changing wide receiver like Malik Nabers or Marvin Harrison Jr. Meanwhile, teams barely throw his direction on defense. That can earn him a spot on any NFL defense.

When I watch him, I see a good receiver, but an elite corner. But, nobody's hired me for their scouting department yet.

Local talk here, not saying I have the inside scoop but I do live 30 mins from Boulder and listen to local radio with insiders everyday. The word is that he'll focus on WR for the money in the NFL.

I personally don't think he's an All-Pro receiver in the NFL, too small, living off talent against Big 12 defenders. He's not a smooth route runner by any means but he is quick in his cuts and get offs. But again, he's not played the likes of Sauce or PS2.

His best position is corner. But he's going to go for most guaranteed money he can get and that's at WR.

Because the NFL isn't going to have a guy playing 150 snaps a game. He'd make more money at WR, so it would make most sense to just focus on that. QBs are too good now and offenses way too complex to have your focus split between two positions on different sides of the ball. Deion is the only player in modern history to play on both sides of the ball (not including random packages for defensive players), and he only had 60 career catches. He also only had semi-significant use at WR for one season in his career, 1996 in Dallas.

Despite all of their college production, B12 WR's haven't exactly taken the League by storm.
