Same idea, anthology horror series that often times has a dystopian technological angle. Just paying forward the M/TV board that has turned me on to a lot of movies shows I liked that I wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Being Halloween, anyone who enjoys Black Mirror that hasn’t seen American Horror Stories, I’d suggest it. Limited season just dropped this week.

theyre basically one in the same to me with less duds on AHS than what BM has delivered recently. I couldn’t even get through the final season of Black Mirror but I still enjoyed the ones that hit.

Honestly though between the writing and stories, outside of AHS awesome theme song, I don’t think I would be able to tell the difference on a lot of the episodes if you labeled one as the other. I’ve binged AHS this week and think the majority of them fall somewhere in the top half of BM episodes.

Are you talking about American Horror Story? I don't really think those two shows are very comparable.

American Horror Stories, not to be confused with American Horror Story.

Every episode is a one off - American horror story is a spin-off every season, not every episode

*I would be very surprised if most think Stories is more like AHS the show than Black Mirror. I’m not a big horror genre person but I see Black mirror when I watch stories

which is why I created the thread. I hadn’t heard of Stories before this month and figured that was probably the case with a lot of people since I have never seen it mentioned here. Just released season 3 but I like it a lot more than the original AHS show. I’m not a big horror buff though

*if anyone watches the naughty list which is like e the second episode in the series and doesn’t think that was a black mirror episode then I’ll renounce this thread

I haven't watched AHS, but Into the Dark on Hulu is a horror anthology by Blumhouse, and they have some really good episodes. I wish they would keep making them.

Yeah I assumed it was just AHS so I have just skipped it. If it’s a true anthology series with a different story every episode then I’ll definitely check it out.

Thanks for this thread, I’m going to watch these. The only reason I haven’t already is because I thought it was related to AHS Ryan Murphy bullshite

Why would they make a show with a name so close to another? Seems like a poor marketing decision.

It is. It's a Ryan Murphy show set in the same universe as AHS. The first two episodes are directly related to AHS.

IMHO this show is significantly lower quality than Black Mirror.

I havent watched those. Looking back through the episodes list I can see I nitpicked episodes and avoided the AHS universe ones. Just watched Dollhouse episode and grant you that one was straight outta AHS.

The ones that gave off more BM vibes for me were Drive In, Naughty List and Daphne for sure
