Airplane vs The Naked Gun

The Airplane thread got me thinking. I think I prefer The Naked Gun slightly. Upvote for Airplane, Downvote for The Naked Gun.

They 2 of the best in slapstick. It's hard to pick. I give Naked Gun the edge for how amazing the baseball game sequence is...and knowing the backstory on how it was all filmed makes it even better.

Airplane! is at worst like the #3 funniest movie of all time. Naked Gun might be Top 20.

I like Naked Gun but Airplane is an all time classic.

The jive talk scenes and the tits in a PG movie push Airplane to the #1 slot, although I do like The Naked Gun too.

I enjoyed the naked gun franchise a lot as a kid as well as Loaded Weapon. Though as an adult I watch Airplane maybe twice a year.
It's a great slapstick.
Of the Naked Gun I always liked 2 1/2. The third movie was one of the first movies we saw without parents. 33 1/3.
I just don't think they are as rewatchable as Airplane.

Airplane may be better front to back, but that baseball scene in Naked Gun may be funniest 15 minutes in television - and it keeps getting better, with Nordberg (OJ Simpson) actually being worth throwing down a flight of stairs in a wheel chair and Christina Aguilera going full-on Enrico Palazzo during the national anthem a few years back.

Naked Gun is fun but it's not remotely edgy like Airplane.
