Here’s link regarding Peter Pan etc

It’s not mentioned in this link but I was searching this evening for Aladdin on my kids profile on Disney+ and Aladdin wasn’t on there. Went to the family and it was on there.

Started the movie and there was a ten second warning about offensive content and how it was a product of its time. Funny that it wasn’t offensive enough to profit from just a few years ago when they remade it....

I don't like the "kids" side of Disney+. The shows don't automatically jump to the next episode after one ends.

ETA: As to the topic, yes Disney's trigger warnings are stupid.

Yeah but they added a Woman Power song to the remake. So it's perfectly fine. Plus the Genie wasn't white. Much less offensive to the Marxists at Disney.

I think you can change that. It’s been a year or so since I subscribed, and we have three kids profiles and one family one. My daughters profile she can watch anything on there. There’s one for my youngest son so it keeps the recently watched stuff like Mickey and other Disney Jr shows, and one for my middle child that keeps what he likes at the top. All of them will go to the next show when one ends. Maybe since I set up, or rather my daughter set up individual profiles it isn’t just a generic Kids one.

If so, I'd love to know how it's done. I admit I didn't do a whole lot of searching, but it wasn't very obvious how to fix this and it seemed easier just to run everything off one profile.

So... Good enough for Disney, but it does not apply anywhere else I guess.

Besides the subversive "take your clothes off" whisper that was always talked about, what the fuk is remotely offensive about fricking Aladdin???

I'm he u in nely perplexed. What is it?

I haven't seen the film in like 20 years, but did Robin Williams make some gay jokes or something? I really can't understand how this film is offensive, yet Disney pandering and boot locking to the CCP's modern Nazi regime is not?

Here's a Variety article from 1993 that sums up the grievances pretty well. The jist:

The original lyrics to "Arabian Nights"
quote:

Where they cut off your ear
If they don’t like your face
It’s barbaric, but hey, it’s home.

All of the Arab characters speak with either American or English accents

Negative portrayals of industrious professionals (merchants, soldiers, etc)

Also, it's amazing how much power Disney held over entertainment "journalism" even back then. The article looks like it was written by one of their internal people, its almost snarky.

It was there when I searched Only problem is the now-standard Disney+ error code for looking at my screen the wrong way.

But here's the stupid trigger warning for those who don't have Disney+:

Was it on a kids profile?

This is specifically limited to profiles for ages.

I checked with some family and same thing on their account- can’t get Aladdin or even the incredibles on the kids profile but on the adult/family profile can watch them.

I mean the incredibles and Aladdin aren’t appropriate for kids?

My kids just watch the regular version. They've seen The Avengers movies and can separate fact from fiction so I figure they can handle pretty much anything else on Disney+

Better start buying these movies on blu-ray or dvd before these woke clowns start wiping them off of digital only platforms.

The Spider-Man and his Amazing friends series got taken off the kids Disney+ at some point also. My 4 year old loves that show, and a few weeks ago he couldn't find it anymore. I had to pull it up on my profile.

Is there a trigger warning for Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood for not having an English accent?

Some of it is weird like that. We can watch Cars or Cars 2 on the kids profile. I had no idea there was even a Cars 3 until my oldest turned it on for our youngest, and she said it was signed into the family profile. Big Hero 6 is another one that doesn't show up in the kids profile, but my 2 year old loves watching that. I guess I get some of the Marvel films and Disney shows that are geared towards preteens not being available on the kids versions, but most of their original stuff is fine.

There should be one for it being a terrible movie.
