my wife likes these shows, but i've never cared much for them.
i view the hgtv families as a bit reality (hometown, fixer upper, etc.) most seem to manage it well.
outdaughtered couple is still together.
duck dynasty is the only other one i can think of, but they pretty much admitted it was a cash grab and they could walk away at any time. i respect that.

I was channel surfing last week and came across this stupid shite. I could only force myself to watch for like 5 minutes. Couldn't believe they were on season 8. It's an amazingly bad show.

A friend worked on that stupid Honey Boo Boo show a while back. Per her the wife was actually very smart. She played along and made enough money for college degrees and to pull themselves up. And then she made up some stupid shite to get the show cancelled so that they could get their lives back.

Pretty sure the mom from Honey Boo Boo became a crackhead shortly after the show and the show got cancelled because she got back to together with one of her baby daddies who had just got out of jail for child molestation and even TLC said that's too much.

Stepfather became a woman, Pretty sure he and wife divorced, Kim divorced and jumps from one guy to the next, Chloe divorced. Don’t know any of the other kids names, but I’m sure they are all living very normal lives. LOL.

First show that came to mind. By wrasslin' industry standards, Hulk and Linda had been together forever, and the kids appeared fairly normal. Everything went to hell in a handbasket after the first season.
Same with Gene Simmons Family Jewels. That shite got heavy when it was reported that Gene cheated on Shannon. I remember their kids not wanting to be on camera anymore. It was gross to watch.

she seemed like a horrible person from start to finish. my wife ate that show up and after they moved to the new house and she just seemed like she would do anything to make that dude's life miserable i bailed and then they split.
it devastated my wife, but i could see it coming a mile away.

Off topic, but I wonder how many couples break up after the show Alone. Your partner leaves you for a couple of months. There is probably a good bit cheating that happens. Also, they left you to go play wilderness. If they come back without the money I could see a lot of resentment.

A lot of the dudes leaving alone, naked and afraid, etc. will play that sick card to get out of there pretty quick. I always laugh when they are complaining like they’re on the verge of death, and the narrator says all test were negative.

Sampling. The people who would do a show like Alone likely live that life normally with lots of time away. Those people are nuts and you won't get involved with those people unless you're nuts in the same way. Primitive living sucks
