Brother Mouzone vs Gus Fring

So I'm just getting to the end of season 2 of the wire and meet this new character, Brother Mouzone. Seems that the breaking bad writers ripped off the Gus Fring character from this guy.
Both seemingly squeaky clean, nerdy thin black guys who are really bad asses in reality.
Anyone else see the similarities?

I don't really see a ton of similarity though beyond being business-like. Mouzone is much more wreckless than Fring. Fring is always looking at safety first. By "safety," I mean staying out of jail.
Mouzone strolls into Baltimore and shoots Cheese with a bean bag gun in front of dozens of witnesses. Then plants on a park bench and no one is man enough to confront him again. He was also one of the few people to ever get the upper hand on Omar.

Brother Mouzone is not thin, brah. Mid-sized maybe. Part of it is his assistant is healthy and Omar is taller and fairly thin, so it is tough to judge.
But, I agree there are similarities. Mouzone has this mysterious background, but is obviously a Nation of Islam caricature and a mercenary. Fring had a little more depth added when you had the exposition (I want to avoid spoilers) of why he came to the significant action he took in the last half of Season 4.
They are similar in style, but not in substance.
