So when Ethan switches the bomb into the bigger bag how does it get through the x-ray machine again? Or does it not have to since it went through once already? Bateman has to carry it on the plane so did he not have to go through bag check and all as well?

No, they are already past the machine at that point. They are in the area where bags are sorted and sent to their respective planes. He uses a door from there to go right into the gates to wait for the plane.

Netflix quality bargain bin film, the main actor makes the same teeth grinding grimace every role he has. He was good in that Apple TV show however.
