Even Seth MacFarlane thinks new Family Guy sucks

Thinks the show should have ended in Season 7. The thing is this has turned into a beast Seth no longer has any control over. He's turned more successful than he could possibly imagine (he's now the highest paid person in television history), and I think he probably wants out. But he can't do that since he voices over half the characters in two of the shows. Its like Trey or Matt leaving South Park; if he leaves, the party is over (and Matt and Trey may be thinking the same thing now, with the more recent episodes sort of alluding to it).
Seems like the man just really wants to produce, and who can blame him. McFarlane could probably be a really good producer. After rebooting the Flintstones, he wants to do Star Trek the series. Yeah its kinda iffy, but at least MacFarlane seems to have a passion for the series to where he'll try to get the right people to basically write the show for him.

I couldn't tell you the last time I watched a new episode of Family Guy. It was probably around the time they started filling in space with 2 minutes of that old band clip. I can't remember the guys name

I stopped watching right when that South Park episode completely ripped Family Guy apart. Matt and Trey were spot on and I couldn't enjoy it from that day forward. There are still some episodes I think are still funny, but thats about it.

You got to admit it though, the first season of Family Guy was comedic gold. Season 2 was pretty good, but then it just went completely downhill. I literally cannot stand it now, and haven't tuned in for years.

It was great when Stewie was a matricidal evil genius, Peter was good hearted but stupid, and Brian was the voice of reason. They had some great episodes, like when they move to the South and Peter founds his own country. That quickly stopped though during the reboot though. It got to Seth's head to where he then thought each episode should start having messages when he figured out he had some influence. I'm pretty sure he has come to regret it solely because of how Quagmire has really been the only constant character in the series and how he hates what Brian turned into. I think that was Seth's way of saying he knows he fricked up, but its too late to turn back.

Seth MacFalane can do anything since he gives that channel half a billion dollars a year almost singehandedly. He has one of the, if not THE most, secure job in the industry.

Never saw an episode I thought was funny. Guess it is for some people, others..not so much. Just looks like a bunch of ripped off attempts at humor that fail. If you throw enough out there, one will work occassionally.

I still enjoy Family Guy, just not as much as I used to. I do agree that evil Stewie >>> gay Stewie, but it's still pretty funny sometimes. I still watch the show, it's just not a priority.

Family Guy went downhill when Peter stopped being the slightly dumb dad, and became the fullblown retard. That was about the same time they decided to make Stewie fullblown gay. All of this was somewhere around the time of the Family Guy movie they put out.
I can't tell you the last time I watched a new Family Guy episode. Every once in a while, I'll catch an old one, but only if it is the only thing on television.

Show has gone way downhill since season 1.

I quit watching family guy about 3 or 4 years ago. When TBS put it on CONSTANT rotation, playing 12 times a day. After that, it was just too much and actually hated when it came on.
Also, the fact that Mcfarlan is an extreme liberal douche, but the nail in the coffin for me. I flipped to hbo one day and saw him on Bill Maher, after that, couldn't watch it again.

That one episode where Brian and Stewie were locked in the bank vault may have been the biggest piece of shite episode of any show I've ever seen.

I liked the Star Wars parodies. I can still watch for a few laughs but I don't think I've seen a new episode in a while. It got kind of weird to me when Brian just started dating women... wtf?
Stewie still gives me a chuckle. Maybe they just don't rag on Meg enough anymore.

Family Guy sucks so much now, American Dad is so much better.

Yeah, Seth knows it sucks. Quagmire has called out Brian (Seth's avatar on the show) on it multiple times.

American Dad is a hundred times better. Took a while for that show to find its legs but its pretty damn funny.

Any idea of his net worth?

He's completely correct. American Dad is actually pretty funny. It has a coherent plot, Family Guy doesn't. I think that Seth's initial goal with AD was Conservative Bashing Hour, but fortunatly he hired a good writing staff to where it didn't turn out that way at all. While Peter became worse and worse as the series progressed, Stan became better. Yeah he's still a ridiculous conservative, but he's still very likable. Wish they used Roger less since its really just the main family that is funny on it more than him.
