Snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers, young Furiosa falls into the hands of a great biker horde led by the warlord Dementus. Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel, presided over by the Immortan Joe. As the two tyrants fight for dominance, Furiosa soon finds herself in a nonstop battle to make her way home.

The Road Warrior is in my top 5 all time. Fury Road is one of the best action movies in the last 25 years. I was hesitant after the first trailer for Furiosa because of the visual effects, but the reception so far has eased my concerns and I’m ready to get back into Miller’s world.

A very detailed, spoiler free review from Edgar Wright

I don't care one bit about the Furiosa character and the trailer actually looks kind of shitty... BUT it's George f-ing Miller and the world of Mad Max and it looks like the best and most natural part Hemsworth has ever played.
You basically never hear his Aussie accent in films, but it adds such a better layer to his acting because he's not think about his words first and his actions second.

Furiosa might have lost an arm but at least her eyes moved in closer together the older she got, so that's a positive in an apocalyptic, dystopian world.

Got my tickets for tonight. Looking forward to it. I'm a sucker for post apocalyptic movies.

I’m jealous. I can’t go until Saturday afternoon. Feel free to post your thoughts in this thread. I’ll update it for spoilers.

Will this supplant Fury Road as the most overrated movie of all time on this board?

In the theater now. Most people I've seen in a Thursday in this theater in a while.
Used my unlimited pass, but still spent $10 in concessions.
Hope it's good. I enjoyed Fury Road though the Mad Max timeline is very confusing.
In Road Warrior civilization still existed. But now this is a post apocalyptic prequel.

Non spoiler review.
It was good. Exceeded my expectations. I looked the back story. Obviously you know who is going to win because so many characters are from Fury Road. Chris Hemsworth plays a good sadistic villian.
Less bad arse cars this was more motorcycle focused. It leads up to Fury road.
More time at the bullet farm and Gastown than Fury road.
You learn how Furiosa earned Immortom Joe's trust.
It was entertaining. Still I don't get the timeline.
Also had a preview for Deadpool I haven't seen yet.
Where Deadpool sees Antman's giant dead skull and says "Paul Rudd finally aged " that got a lot of laughs in the theater.
It was a good movie. Not sure how I rank it to other mad max movies.

I very much disagree with this statement.
We jump over to her in hiding to joining Jack as an unknown person to everyone knowing who she is. We are missing important details

It was an OK sequel to a great movie. There was so much crazy original stuff in Fury Road and this was just showing that to you again. (They show clips from Fury Road during the end credits and man, that just reminds you which is the superior movie) Anya Taylor-Joy was better in it than I thought she would be. Chris Hemsworth was great. The ending is cold blooded

I thought it was pretty solid
And they fly over Mad Max and his car and hint that he saves Furiosa and takes her to the maggot healer

Civilization? You mean that small band inside their little compound? You are thinking Mad Max the original movie.

Was anyone else hoping the next Mad Max movie would, you know, have Tom Hardy and feature Max Rockatansky?

No. I just wanted another George Miller action packed wasteland movie. He fricking delivered.

I was, and I was pleasantly surprised and wrong. This movie rules.

Very good movie. But the box office is proving nobody gave a frick about Furiosa. First Mad Max movie in like 10 years and no Mad Max. That’s not a great idea in this theater climate. People don’t give a shite anymore. If it doesn’t look great they’re not going.

Well they are missing out. I thought it was a very good movie too. It's probably movie fans thinking this is another forced female action lead character that is far from that. The furiosa character in both fury road and this one never felt forced.

It was the worst Memorial Day box office weekend in 30 years. Furiosa did not do well at all ($32 mil domestically). George Miller apparently had already started writing another Mad Max movie, but it may be scrapped after the bad showing from Furiosa.

Not a Mad Max saga but also not a girl boss movie.
Poor marketing of a pretty good movie though.

Snowflakes. What did I say which wasn't accurate? My god.
