Tried to post it in the WTF thread, but wouldn't work.

FWIW, it had been posted in that thread already
He has been in a lot of those roles in movies we've all seen. He's been in:
Maximum Overdrive
Do the Right Thing
King of New York
Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man
Malcom X
The Usual Suspects
and TV:
Sesame Street
Miami Vice
and tons of 1-2 episode runs.
Dude is the guy who put in work for like 20 years before he became a name actor.
Completely different than the actors who show up in one major role then are A-list onward, like Jessica Chastain who didn't get a decent role until 2011 when she was 34 (with a first credit in 2008). Then did Zero Dark Thirty in 2012 and was auto-B/A list onward.

Wow. He's been around forever. I watched Malcolm X last month for the first time in like 15 years and he shows up in the last 10 or so minutes as one of the killers.

Yeah Spike Lee hires him a lot for roles.

He was also a big part of Homicide: Life on the Street in that show’s last few seasons.

Was coming to say Do The Right Thing.
Him as Buggin Out has been in the back of my mind recently, along with Samuel L Jackson as Dr Senor Love Daddy.

Wasn’t he in that Sci Fi tv show a few years ago?
Some sort of alien invasion show.

Like his character in Fresh .

Boaz Yakin wrote and directed it. He also directed A Price Above Rubies (1998), Remember the Titans (2000), Safe (2012).
Sean Nelson is great in it. And then there's Chuckie!

He's absolutely amazing in Godfather of Harlem. That show is pretty frickin good too. It's kinda like Boardwalk Empire where it's historical fiction intersecting with real people and events in history. Takes place in the 60's in Harlem. He plays real life Harlem Minister Adam Clayton Powell.

Never made that connection.
Me either and Trading Places is one of my favorite movies. I think I'm going to have to buy it as I tried to find it to stream and it was nearly impossible. It's considered too politically incorrect now and like some others, it's unfortunate, because the whole point of it was just how wrong the Dukes were!
