This is their newest ad: LINK

Good production quality... But holy shite.

This is the same company that had probably the best ad campaign I can remember for a decade, then old dude retired, and they got some Frankenstein looking idiot to be the "new guy" and it's been all down hill since.

Gotta be on the Mt Rushmore of how not to continue advertising disasters.

Do you not remember the Gillette ads ?

Sure, it's like they went to day 1 of ad school, and got the most average of students to make a beer commercial, it's so generic, but I've seen far worse.

I mean, it’s not good, but it’s nowhere near as bad as Chevy’s Real People Not Actors ads. Couldn’t find one of the old ones since they seem to have scrubbed them out like the plague. frick you Potsch Boyd!

Yeah, way worse than the OP. That one isn’t even in the stratosphere of worst commercial. They could bring back the Most Interesting Man in the World tomorrow and no one would notice he ever left.

I mean it's certainly not a memorable ad but it's not a disaster unless I'm missing something here. Seems like a pretty standard ad

It's definitely not as good as the "most interesting man in the world" ads, but it's not the worst ad I've ever seen either. I've watched it twice now and can't figure out what you're upset about.

I could be wrong, But i think the OP is talking about how they went from a pop culture phenomenon ad campaign in "The Most Interesting Man in the World" to garbage.

If that's the case then yes they wasted some good will maybe, but other companies have had similar level ad campaigns only to shite the bed on the follow up. Budweiser has probably had more pop culture changing Ads that were followed up with Meh! Also Coke and McDonalds come to mind.

And why can’t they go back to him? I don’t know anyone who has noticed this ad campaign. It’s not like they sicked a bear on a “real person” without warning them and doesn’t care and then suddenly jizzes his pants looking at a truck he sees going down the street on a daily basis. That is the worst commercial of all time. I don’t think the people in Idiocracy as dumb as they were would fall for that.

He didn't retire of his own free will. They decided to let him go to get a younger "Most Interesting Man" which ironically instantly killed the campaign.

Bingo.

No issue with the commercial, it's just that the "Most interesting man" campaign was hugely successful and memorable and effective and now they're basically just putting out run-of-the-mill ads that have no effect at all. I didn't even realize it was a XX commercial till the very end.

I'm no ad exec, but I don't think thats not how it's supposed to work.

Only thing I'm seeing is that the two people in the ad that drink dos equis got dumped by two cooler people. So dos equis is for losers?

Yeah it made sense in the beginning when it was about fighters, and the "fighting spirit" tag line, but then it went to a barber and some other nobodies. So, it's the spirit to be average?
