Also starring:
Dyan Cannon and Slim Pikens
One of the many great early 80's Texas Country themed movies. I love this genre and era of movies including Urban Cowboy, Tender Mercies, etc. They all had incredible music too...Honeysuckle Rose is no exception..easily one of the best original movie soundtracks ever made.

Willie liked it enough to name his tour bus the Honeysuckle Rose.

My dad still has the original vinyl of the soundtrack..it's great. I wonder how many people know "On the Road Again" was actually from this movie.

Oh that Dyan Cannon. Made for an exciting childhood. Solid flick and yes great soundtrack. The 80's is my favorite decade for movies. Can't be touched on original content imo.

"The Kid" grew up to be Toby Kieth's bass player for many many years. He and his sister were the opening act at Luchenbach for about a decade as well. He used to date one of my friends. Passed away from throat cancer about a year ago. RIP

I need to watch this some time. It was on TV a lot when I was kid, but looking at the IMDB I actually know who these people are now and have seen a lot of them live.
