Anybody watched yet? I always thought his story would make for a great dramatic series.

Started it this morning and watched E1,2. It is interesting and visually appealing. The characters are developing at this point and it’s keeping my attention.

Is this just about David & Goliath or does it include his years as the king?

The wife and high school aged kids and I have been enjoying it. Very well done.

I believe it's intended to be a TV series that encompasses his entire life.

The first season will apparently only cover the events leading up to Goliath and that fight. It’s definitely an interesting show, but I’m sure they are taking some liberties to what’s depicted in the scriptures

Yea, there are. I was actually impressed they went with the "bastard" approach with David. I always assumed a possible truth there as it is taught is some Jewish traditions, but most people aren't aware of that.

Didn't Solomon conjure "entities" to help build his temple?

Really enjoyed it so far. More proof that with good writing and acting, you don’t need a bloated CGI budget for a good show.

Isn’t that freemasonry or the Da Vinci Code?

Production-wise, it's well done, but I guess Amazon just can't help themselves. Having David's mother, who is never mentioned in the Bible, sascrifice herself to save him from the lion he eventually kills. I mean, c'mon.

I mean, the story of David is compelling enough, but they're trying to make this like it's Game of Thrones.

I saw this and immediately knew I’d never watch this show. David literally fought lions and bears but it was to protect his sheep. This is foreshadowing of Jesus, who is from David’s line, as the Good Shepherd. Throwing his mother into this just introduces and creates motivations for David that simply are not made known in scripture.

Yes, that is my issue with the show. Doing a show on David there is enough in the Bible to do many seasons.

Still a good show worth watching but take much of it with a grain of salt.

David fought a long game with Saul, lasted years and only ends when Saul is killed.

Like I told my friend down in Baton Rouge there is enough there to do 7 seasons with ease.

They got David wrong from the outset. They made him an illegitimate child.
