Where Johnny Utah jumps out of the plane without a chute and catches up to Bohdi? Ive never went sky diving so curious.
Considering this was his 2nd jump ever.

Plot twist: He was Neo before he knew it and was actually in the matrix so completely plausible

Not any less realistic than the plane scene in the dark knight rises

How about the Pierce Brosnon 007 when he chases down the airplane and jumps off the end of the runway after it. He falls faster than the plane, catches up with it, climbs in it, (all while it is uncontrollably falling to the earth), and pulls it from the dive and flies off, back to ‘bloody England.’
Now that was believable.

How about the fact that in the same scene, he bungee jumps off a 700 foot dam and enters a facility that is at the top of a cliff (where the airplane falls off and freefalls for a solid minute)? And in the wide shot, the dam is not to be seen?

I don’t know about the catching up part but people have jumped out of planes without chutes. But I would think you’d need tons of training and ‘rehearsals’ with a chute.

Not very but search YT and there’s dudes who have really done just that but it was carefully planned. There’s another video where a dude completely solves a Rubik’s cube before he pulls his chute.

Myth Busters tried to recreate this. The outcome was that he could have caught up to Bodhi, but would not have been able to hold the gun, talk to each other and neither would survive the late pull on the chute.
That said... that really is Swayze jumping out of the plane. He took up skydiving with great passion during the filming.

Mostly because he wanted to do the jumps and the producers wouldnt let him for insurance reasons. So he took it upon himself, on his own dime, and got certified to jump solo.
If you notice, the cinematography of him jumping out of the plane is a bit different than the rest of the aerial jumps with the team. Thats because he had someone come with him unbeknowst to the studio. When they saw how good the footage was they put it in the film.
Swayze really was an American Treasure.

I think the only shot that is Swayze is the up close shot of him facing camera as it initially dives out of the airplane backwards.
The insurance company told them they had to film the whole movie first, including using a stunt man for all the skydiving shots. (After all, if Swayze died, they wouldn’t have a movie.) And then, at the very end, once they knew they had completed the film, would they allow Swayze to do that one particular shot.

I laughed my arse off when he did that. Novice sky diver and he's going to go out the plane without a chute and not die a horrible death.
But then again, how many "Hop & Chop" films have they made where people fly through the air 10 seconds at a time doing Kung Fu moves and vanquishing their enemies.

Yep that might have been one of the best movie sets to ever be on:
Swayze, Busey, Reeves, Sizemore, McGinley, Keidis, and many other talented people from early 90s.
I would go as far, as a fan of Point Break, to say that it had a profound influence on my life. I try to incorporate Bodhi philosophies into my every day journey. RIP Patrick Swayze.

Ever notice that when the girl said, "thats Bodhi, they call him the bohdizafa"
Literally no one called him that the entire move.

The word you're looking for is Bodhisattva, Steely Dan.

They pull the chute like 10 feet off the ground

In Mahayana Buddhism, a bodhisattva refers to anyone who has generated bodhicitta, a spontaneous wish and compassionate mind to attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all sentient beings.
