Nickelodeon a little worried about the bottom line and doesn’t want to pay for two family trips to the Bahamas?

As long as a temple guard entered any room then they won. You couldn’t turn around. You couldn’t spin move.

They weren’t in every room were they?

Some people obviously won?

There were specific routes that avoided them. Also if the teams won enough they had coins to give them to not lose when caught.

The most infuriating thing about that show was the shrine of the silver monkey.

You have to assemble a statue of a monkey that has three parts.

The number of kids who found this to be a basically impossible task was infuriating.

With all the reboots, I am surprised they they haven't done a G.U.T.S. and LOTHT adult reboot. I would much rather watch one of those than American Ninja Warrior.

The guards were always in that one little room.

Also the moat was all smoke (literally) and mirrors. Just get across the damn thing!

Didn't something come out about them deliberately rigging it because they only had so many prizes per season they could give out?

I vaguely remember one where 3 of the first 4 rooms the kids entered had guards, immediately ending them. Was the biggest dose of bullshite my younger mind had seen

I remember that encountering a prison guard cost half a token and if the kid had a half token the guard would take it and the next kid would go. But if a kid had a whole token, the guard would take the whole token and the next kid would go. Token value wasnt equal and the kids with the whole token should have broken half off and kept going with their other half.

It wasn’t just the shrine of the silver monkey. Most of the kids were just fricking stupid. They would keep trying the same button to progress or go backwards, they just didn’t pay attention when they described the temple either. Some of the kids would go in circles. It makes you want to throw things at the TV the kids are so bad at the temple. There is a few YouTube videos on it.

Green Monkeys were the best, Silver Snakes were pretty dang good at winning the temple when they made it there. Orange Iguanas absolutely sucked at the temple, but made it there the most.
