Justified: Question About Raylan Givens History/Mom

Raylan makes several comments about how his aunt Helen raised him. He even says is Season 2 Episode 12 that "she raised her dead sister's kid".

But we also have Arlo and Raylan discussing their history earlier in that episode where we find out that Arlo married Helen 15 years prior (ie "no offense to your mother but these last 15 years have been the best of my life.

Season 2 was aired in 2011. We know that Raylan was born in 1970 (tombstone in yard) which means Arlo and Helrn didn't get married until Raylan was 26.

It's also said that Raylan wasn't around when his mom died - that he already left Harlan to start his career. That placed his mom's death around Raylan's early to mid-20s.

I know he visited Helen a lot as a kid that may explain some of the descrepeancies, but we hear in the same episode that Helen moved in with Arlo because she loved Raylan and wanted to protect him.

So...how is that explained? Helen moved in with Arlo, Francis (the mom), and Raylan when he was a kid after Raylan went over to Helen's all the time to watch TV and drink cokes?
