Lord of the Rings Extended Editions: which one is the best?

Everyone has their own ranking for the theatrical editions of The Lord of the Rings. Some say their favorite is Fellowship, others Two Towers/ROTK.
But what about the extended editions? Did the added footage change enough of your minds and your order? Was there some footage added that you wished had stayed in?
What say you?

I think Fellowship is my favorite
Two towers is definitely number 3. I always fast forward Treebeard and the Ents parts. I just don’t care about that plot point. Helms deep is amazing and the films saving grace to me .

Fellowship is the best of the movies but I actually think I enjoy the ROTK extended edition more simply for the Mouth of Sauron.

Same
Watch ROTK recently and it’s just nonstop badass scenes and action.
I’m a sucker for origin stories though

I haven’t watched the theatricals in years. I don’t even remember what the extended editions even added at this point because they’re all I watch.

What most sticks out is the beginning of Fellowship and they actually show the forest elves giving the Hobbits those items. It was weird when Two Towers came out and they had cloaks. Like where did those come from?
I like the opening to Fellowship much better in the extended version.

I have to go with the Two Towers

I think FOTR had the most inconsequential additions added in, more so cool little book tidbits that were left out. The Galadriel gift scene was a great addition, Aragorn bringing in a nice buck in the swamps was a nice touch.
Two Towers scenes added some great context, the Fords of Isen where Eomer finds Theodred is great. In theatrical it just shows Eomer riding up to Edoras with him injured. The Boromir scene is fantastic, might be my favorite of all.
ROTK additions are a little hit and miss for me. Hate Gandalf getting waxed by the witch king since that didn’t happen, the paths of the dead adds too much forced humor from Gimli, but love the Houses of Healing and mouth of Sauron though

this scene was awesome
They should have kept this scene in the theatrical release. Without it Faramir looks like a dick, it humanizes Boromir, and explains the relationship between the three of them very efficiently.

As a kid, I always liked Two Towers best because of all the action it had.
Today, however, I enjoy Fellowship far more. I used to hate the Moria scenes, but now that I actually know what the significance of Moria and what a Balrog actually is, it's much more enjoyable becaue of all the Silmarillian/First Age lore.
The Bridge of Kazad-dum scene is the best of the entire series because Gandalf shows and tells eveyone what he really is. Before that, I don't think any Hobbit had any idea he was much more than a kind old man who could do a little magic.

I’m reading the books right now and was shocked at how little was devoted to Helms deep in the book. I’m glad they fleshed it out in the movie

A wise man once said it is 1 - 11 hour film, not 3 films.
They are all better with Extended Edition

For me, Fellowship sets up the world. Introduces all the characters and lays out the story. To me, that's what makes this trilogy so special. Without a solid base on which to carry the rest of the story, the other movies don't do as well.
