HBO and Nathan Fielder have revealed the details of the comedian’s new comedy series The Rehearsal. The show’s first episode premieres on Friday, July 15. According to the official synopsis, the six-episode series “explores the lengths one man will go to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life.” The synopsis continues:
With a construction crew, a legion of actors, and seemingly unlimited resources, Fielder allows ordinary people to prepare for life’s biggest moments by “rehearsing” them in carefully crafted simulations of his own design. When a single misstep could shatter your entire world, why leave life to chance?
Fielder is the executive producer, writer, director, and star of The Rehearsal.

Sounds like basically Nathan For You in reverse with a bit less restrictiveness on what they can do inside the concept
Find a person with a goal they are trying to accomplish, then set up a scenario for them to achieve that, with a script, studio, actors etc I assume, and I’d guess they give it a real shot at the end of the show
So I’d expect a lot of similarities to Nathan for You except he isn’t confined to only finding businesses willing to go on TV that he can come up with a hilarious idea for

Let's brainstorm scenarios. Obviously, from the trailer, they are going to have someone preparing for motherhood.
A wedding seems like another obvious scenario.
Job interview?
Big speech? Political speech?
Flying for someone who is afraid of flying?
OMG, losing a loved one?? Would he dare?

The impersonator switch in the car
Nathan for You is one of the best comedies of all time. Guy is next level genius.

Yeah I lost it the first time I saw that episode
No idea how the show wasn’t more popular, it was outstanding

Yeah first thing I noticed, guessing 1 or 2 of the people on the show are from LA and or TX

Premiere was tonight, this show is a masterpiece. It surpasses comedy, Fielder is just on another level. He has you cracking up and minutes later on the edge of your seat waiting to see how a basic social interaction works out.
Cannot wait for more episodes.

I just watched it.
Nathan is a genius. With this show and his last show, he’s created a whole new genre of comedy that doesn’t even have a name. It’s reality, concept, cringe, gonzo, and surreal all at once.

It wasn't what I would call laugh out loud funny, although I did laugh, but it was definitely engaging. You can tell that the Rehearsal kind of evolved naturally from the latter day direction of Nathan for You, especially in episodes like Finding Frances, that were psychological profiles of the people involved with meta-storytelling. You nailed it when you said he's doing something that basically transcends comedy.

He is the only person I’ve ever watched on TV that makes me visibly cringe and laugh out loud at the same time. After watching 50 or so episodes with him I still can’t even tell if it’s an act for tv or not. I’m convinced he is just as awkward in person as he is on tv

Loved it when he was rehearsing in the bar and the fake friend walked out after his confession and the actors in the bar chimed in:
“Did you hear what he said?! He didn’t even get a Master!

that dude was so offended that Nathan fed him the answers for trivia. He thinks he would’ve won had he not gotten all the answers fed to him leading up to the show and bashed Nathan instead of thanking him for all the crazy lengths he went to. trivia is life!

Shout out to J Squad! I loved the episode where he got the drunkard to dress up in a sumo suit and walk thru the antique shop breaking everything so he had to pay for it all. Then he got home and him and his bro were talking about all the hookers they banged together

Holy shite the ending had me crying laughing.
Haven’t laughed that hard in a while.
“It was a huge mistake and you fricked this all up. You’re a…you’re an awful, awful person!”
