Was looking at the featured movies on HBO this month and came across this classic. Its so good. A young Amber Heard. Evan Peters clearly the best young actor in the film. So bad its awesome dialogue, 1 dimensional characters, with a great soundtrack.

After putting Max, his best friend, in intensive care, insulting the drunk driving death of his Dad, and finally getting his revenge during an attempted assault in the Beatdown parking lot. Tyler is able to give a nod to Ryan signifying their mutual respect.

Did anyone else learn life lessons from this movie?

That was kind of stupid, IMO. The guy was a piece of shite who nearly killed his friend and started the whole thing just to be a dick. I'd have zero respect for that guy, mutual or otherwise. He belongs in prison.

This movie was pretty lit back in 2008. You should check out the sequel that I think went straight to dvd. It was partially filmed at LSU and has full blown nudity and I think a threesome

We were seniors in HS when this came out and we LOVED this movie Combine that with the fact UFC was getting mainstream and the result was a bunch of 16-18 year olds thinking they could beat anyone's arse. I imagine Rocky had the same effect as far as making people feel tough walking out of the theater

This movie was always a guilty pleasure of mine. Just pure mindless awesomeness. Got laid many times in college with this playing in the background. Thanks Sean Faris's abs

Yeah I was in high school as well. Distinctly remember watching this before a football game and getting pretty hyped. Then we watched the sequel later on and our coach walked in on the threesome scene or whatever it was and just rolled his eyes.

Perfect comparison,

No interest in the second one, it would ruin the mystique of the first.

I learned throwing things against the wall will make me feel better.

Assault will go unpunished whether its three dudes in a Hummer or my best friend at some psychos house.

Every girl in Florida high schools look like a super model and girls take bubble baths at parties so we can all watch.

If I'm a fast learner I get to be in the advanced class

Alright, this thread just made me turn this movie on. I haven't seen it since it first hit DVD more than 10 yrs ago. I find watching these mma movies now much more enjoyable.

Plus it's kind of a great high school movie in the same vein as Vision Quest and Karate Kid.

That formula is so tried and true. I wish more of these movies were made now. Even if they're not theatrical hits. Netflix could easily make a good one now.

I forgot just how much of a fricking Tyler Durden impression dude does in the movie. It's so bad it's distracting at times.
