With a son about the same age as her daughter in the trailer, I don’t think I’m ready for that.

Saddest… as in something that will tug at your heart
Or
Saddest as in pathetic?

Saddest as in pathetic?

This movie appears to have a sad beginning and it gets exponentially sadder in the middle and climaxes with the death of Elaine’s daughter.
No thanks.
No thanks.

So basically Ram Dass comes back to earth in the form of a parrot and helps a mother and daughter reconcile death?

Just what I need to start of 2024.

Looks awful. I wonder how they explain her daughter has a full blown Irish accent.

Screenwriter: It’s a touching
story about a mother having to come to grips with the inevitable death of her terminally ill child
A24: we’re not interested
Screenwriter: oh and there’s like a fricked up magic parrot that talks to them
A24: Were listening

Man, I love A24, but this looks awful.
Whose idea was it to voice the parrot of (literal) death as a 13-year-old girl burp-talking in a British accent?
Jesus.

there are some A24 movies that give me a raging hard on and some that make me think i'll never see sunlight or be happy again.
no in between really.

Looks kinda dumb with the talking parrot. Why is it there?
Also, she's 63 years old. Did the character have this kid at 50, or are we supposed to believe Dreyfus is portraying a 45 year old woman?

Yeah I'll pass on the Requiem For A Dream method of making you feel like total shite by the end of the movie.

My daughter suddenly passed away at 30 years old on December 4th, 2018. You will never be prepared for it. Trust me.
And I will not watch this movie

So sorry No one should have to feel that kind of pain.
I have a hard time watching movies about parents losing their children.
It’s a scary thought in my head all the time I don’t need to watch a movie about it.

It is not a phone call you want to get at 11:43pm. And I hope not a single one of you ever get that call.

Fuuuuck that. As a parent I refuse to watch movies like that. I watched The Lovely Bones and that’s the last movie about a kid dying I’ll ever watch
I’m good with her just being Elaine.

The parrot sounds like Bane. Jack Nicholson was a better parrot in Terms of Endearment.
