Number 24 popped up in my Netflix recommendations, and it was excellent.

It is based on the true story of Gunnar Sønsteby, Agent No. 24, a member of the Norwegian resistance to the German occupation of Norway in WWII. Per Wiki, he became "the most highly decorated citizen in Norway, including being the only person to have been awarded the War Cross with three swords, Norway's highest military decoration."

If you like WWII movies, this shows a slice that we don't often see covered in American movies. It's in Norwegian, but you can select the English overdub, and it is fine.

Warning that it includes a lot of violence, assassinations, etc. 95% fresh on RT.

Sounds like a great rec. I love when a lesser known part of history is well portrayed.

All I knew about Norway in WWII was the heavy water plant targeted by the allies.

Did not realize the participation of locals with the Naxi party and actions of the underground. Movie was very interesting and thanks for the recommendation.

Sounds a good bit like “Sisu” which was highly entertaining.

We watched it when it first came out. Very good IMHO. Spent some time in Norway. The story of the German invasion and resistance is a fascinating story you don't ever hear much about.

Subtitles are better than fine.

Dubbed always feels like you're two-seconds behind the plot....and the spoken translation can be way off.

Thanks for the rec though, hope it pops-up on Prime one day, Netflix got the boot years ago....dishonorable company that fleeced people for years in the 2000s.

I watched it his morning and it exceeded my expectations. The story about his childhood friend was the hardest hitting point of the movie. Wow!

Watched it yesterday. Very good movie. Crazy how invisible someone could be back then. He was hiding in plain sight a lot of times.

Agree that Sisu was a very good movie, but this film is nothing like it. Sisu is a straight action film. number 24 is more drama/suspense/intrigue.
