YouTubes

I'm glad to live in a time that home video doesn't take over a year and half from it's theatrical release.

I assume it will be available on regular DVD as well. I will definitely be picking this one up. It was excellent.

Batman (1989) was released in July and available on VHS by November.

Is there a noticeable difference between a physical Blu-ray vs the most high definition stream available (whatever that might be), when both are viewed on a 4k TV?

When will it hit streaming services? I’ve been looking to buy this but it has not popped up yet. By comparison Barbie has been out for weeks already.

I’m surprised it took that long to be honest

in audio? definitely.

in video? depends. streaming is usually compressed to point that your internet connection is no longer a potential issue that would cause buffering.

i mentioned in the best buy thread that i found a 4k copy of Interstellar at a local used store in town. i streamed the docking scene on Paramount + and then popped the 4k into my PS5 without changing volume or TV settings. it was night and day difference.

the 4k was louder and more pronounced while also providing a better audio output. it was louder as well.

Yeah Barbie came out on the same week, and went to streaming like a month ago - seems to be a case to case basis, because some films come to streaming like 2 weeks after theatrical premiere and others take several months

Nov 21 - same day as physical

I’ve been really excited about this. I needed something to help me sleep.

The thought of a nuclear holocaust at any moment helps with me my sleep at night as well.

Yes. We steam most things unless I own the Blu-ray. The audio on the Blu-ray on our system blows streaming away. It is noticeable if you have good speakers. The image is also always sharp. No buffering ever. And it is not compressed (as much as streaming). The files are like 80GB+ on 4k Blu-ray’s.

The first 2 hours of Oppenheimer in IMAX is the best theatrical experience I have probably been a part of in well over a decade or more.

I don't K ow how the hell you could ever replicate that on a home theater, but 4k/blu-ray is a start. I wish they'd re-release in IMAX at Christmas for a week or two

Todays the day!!!!

Check your local stores!!!!

Paramount+ is streaming it as well!!!

ETA: not seeing it on Paramount+, yet. We all might’ve assumed that it would be there at the same time as physical release. Might have to wait longer.

It will be on Peacock, not Paramount. Probably several more months to stream it for free.

Yeah, I started to see Peacock as the option after a few minutes if Google searching. Still no date on that though.

No worries, I’m headed to Best Buy to see if they have any steel books available when they open.
