I've noticed a few Robin Hood movies on lately and wondered which version people here think are the best.

There are a lot so I'll just go with my top 5. Comedy and animated versions are included.

1. The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)

2. Disney's Robin Hood (1973 Animated)

3. Robin Hood: Men in Tights

4. Robin Hood: Price of Thieves (The Costner one)

5. Robin and Marian (1976: Connery)

Errol Fynn is the epitome of Robin Hood. That version is one of my personal list of "Perfect Films".

Kevin Costner was terrible as Hood, but the rest of the cast and story was fun. Alan Rickman's Sherriff of Nottingham stole the movie.

I think you're spot on with your ranking.

Definitely.

I'm a Costner fan, so I give him a pass. Hell, it's enjoyable enough for me to watch if it's on.

Men in Tights is by far my favorite

Disney one is second.

The rest really aren't great. Prince of Thieves is OK.

Not a movie but my favorite interpretation might be the BBC show that ran from 2006-2009.

Not yet no. I need to. But of the ones made in the last 80 years, the serious ones have been pretty shite.

I cant get past how this one continually defied basic physics. The music was decent but can't suspend disbelief to the point they demanded.

I hope you have the opportunity to. It checks all of the boxes from casting, setting, story.

Here's the Trailer:

It should be. They took the best animation from previous films and repurposed it for Robin Hood.

I agree with this order. The Disney one is underrated.
