Russo bros say Thor was “stronger than ever at the end of Endgame”

I just watched Endgame for the 2nd time today and had forgotten how easily double hammer Thor got cucked by Thanos. He got freaking arse handed to him again and again, I don’t think he gets one hit on him.
Then you’ve got Cap wielding Mjolnir for the first time and he waxes Thanos’ arse for about 30 seconds.
I originally tossed it up to Thor being a fat alcoholic, he was nowhere near top form due to being so out of shape.
But cruising /marvelstudios I pop into a Russo bro AMA, and what I read kind of pissed me off.
Here’s the question:
“Was Thor weaker in Endgame's final fight than in the end of Infinity War or did noticing he was still worthy return him to normal?“
Answer:
“Anthony: The difficult road that Thor's traveled ultimately gave him strength. He was stronger than ever by the end of Endgame.”
I think that’s some BS. If Thor was strongest he’s ever been why did he get skullfricked over and over again? Makes him look pretty pathetic to what he should be. I get how strong Thanos is even without the stones, but they did Thor dirty in this fight.

Too drag out the movie

That's a load of BS.
In Infinity War, Stormbreaker Thor bitchslapped Thanos with the stones. Endgame, Fat Mjolnir/Stormbreaker Thor would've been killed by past-Thanos without the stones if not for Cap.

I’m fine with Cap wielding Thor’s hammer, but I don’t like that he also somehow obtains Thor’s power over lightning. Thor is the god of lightning. At the end of Ragnarok we saw Thor call down lightning without the hammer. Lightning bolts is not a power of the hammer itself, right? Then why is Cap all of a sudden calling down lightning too?

In the first Thor movie Odin did say whoever posses the hammer shall he be worthy and will have the power of Thor (paraphrasing). So I assume that’s how Cap can do it, plus he has done it in the comics per google.

this is just some emotional support bullshite
Thor was not stronger when he fought Thanos in Endgame compared to when he fought Thanos in IW

And people downvoted me when I said that I hated Fat Thor and hated how they actually kept him that way for the whole movie.
Funny and/or fat Thor is a trend that needs to be checked in a big way and I think it's going to get worse with him around the guardians.
I miss this Thor where he was badass and got straight to the point, he just needs Stormbreaker in the other hand and the new lightning abilities he got in ragnarok. This his was his peak and very best look imo.

He was made stronger by the increased diversity of the film

I remember that creepy post where you whined about how Thor’s body, beard, and hair looked a lot better pre-Ragnarok.

Yeah, that's one thing that I didn't like about Thor's story.
Ragnarok was all about Thor not needing his hammer anymore and unlocking his lightning powers, then Infinity War happens and his story is all about getting Stormbreaker.
We don't even see him use his lightning in Infinity War/Endgame like he did in Ragnarok.

He may have been emotionally stronger than ever, but his physical weakest. If he were at his physical strongest and went one on one with Thanos - whether it be a pure fist fight or Thor with Stormbreaker and Thanos with his sword - Thor beats him handily.

And?
I still stand by it.
Big Lebowski Fat Thor sucks arse and took a lot away from Endgame. It was fine for a few scenes but not the whole damn movie.
The last shot with the Avengers Trinity of Thor, Iron Man and Captain America deserved all three of them looking at their best peak and we thought we were getting that bad arse look according to a poster like this signifying where they started to where they are now.....

Instead we got him at his physically weakest....

Thanos had data on Mjolnir Thor and Stormbringer Thor through hacking Nebula Prime.
He did not have data on Mjolnir Rogers.

But I didn't.
Dude, I've already said I stand by it and really don't give a frick if you think it's cringey.
Thor's physical appearance in endgame wasn't the only thing wrong with him, it was also his attitude and personality that was radically different as well and just completely took away from Endgame's potential.

This is an interesting way of coming out.

What is the purpose of this thread?
Superhero strength levels rise and fall to the level needed to serve the story.
“Stronger than ever” is a common way of saying that someone is at their usual strength level.
You people obsess over the strangest throw-away interview comments.

Dude, I'm straight as an arrow and have no problem commenting and critiquing the physical appearance of other men.
If you think that's something to be made fun of or call cringe, then that says more about your insecurity than you think it does about my orientation.
