Step Aside Galadriel, War Of The Rohirrim Will Be The Feminist Story LOTR Actually Needed

War of the Rohrrim will center more on Helm's daughter, who was unnamed in Tolkien's version of the story. While such changes or extensions of The Lord of the Rings canon are typically frowned upon, this may be an exception
quote:
While the story will still follow Helm Hammerhand and his war against the Dunlendings (which is one of the more exciting stories involving Rohan from Tolkien's legendarium), the film will more specifically center around Helm's daughter, Hèra. This is an interesting change since, in canon, this fateful war began when Hammerhand refused to marry his daughter to a Dunledning lord, Wulf.
quote:
Helm's daughter had little else to do with the story in Tolkien's version of events, but War of the Rohirrim is making a change. The screening revealed that the newly dubbed Hèra would take on a warrior role, forced into a position of leadership following Hammerhand's decisions. The character will call on an all-female tribe of fighters for help, transforming this Lord of the Rings tale into the sort of feminist story the franchise needs.
Screen Rant
So they acknowledge that people hate major changes to LotR. But in this instance it’s a-ok because it pushes The Message.
shite like this is why gate-keeping your hobbies and passions is important.
Star Wars is already destroyed. Might as well take a giant shite on Tolkien’s works too.

The daughter so damn important, that Tolkien didn't even name her?
Like he did with Eowyn?

Mary Sue of Rohan!

The good news is I think Lord of the Rings is pretty impervious to assault unlike Star Wars.

Put a chick in it. Make her lame and gay.

Holy shite. Another girl boss with an army of girl bosses. And this author thinks anyone wants this? How. Just how. I get that the Message is paramount but we already just had a failed season that showcased a girl boss.

I’m excited to see the usual suspects come into the thread to explain to us why we’re simply bigots and this is rage bait and the Message doesn’t even exist

Yeah, but there’s nothing you can do to the properties that will make me just take everything written and released in Christopher’s lifetime isn’t the actual cannon.

Nothing is safe anymore dude. Amazon owns this bitch and, as they’re telling us now, will gleefully frick this up.

Can’t wait for the line “somehow, Sauron returned” in Lord of the Rings: Mordor Awakens.

Well worst case scenario I own a physical copy of all of Tolkien’s works and the Extended Editions of the Lord of the Rings, so unless they raid my home looking for them, then I think I’m good and safe.
EDIT: Also btw: I and tens of millions of other readers and watchers of Middle Earth understands Tolkien’s vision. It’s like claiming that perverts taking over your church with rainbow flags can destroy your faith. That’s all these freaks are trying to destroy Tolkien’s Legendarium that have either no understanding or outright resentment for the work, but it’s not going to work because we know what Tolkien was truly going for and he was detailed and explicit about it.
It’s impervious to damage due to this. It shouldn’t be possible. And words to live by from Tolkien:

Well yeah we can say that about Star Wars and anything else. But forget about ever getting anything new that’s good. The wokesters will never again allow anything good.

And now I won’t be seeing this film.

They just want you to think they can.

Didn’t the show runner of this trash Rings of Power for being woke trash a while ago?
I swear I remember being excited for this for that specific reason

Wtf - he is not one of a few witnesses with a slightly different perspective, he is the motherfricker who imagined and wrote the thing.

Do any of the books ever explain what the Rohirrim were doing between the time Theoden expelled them and Gandalf brought them back? I imagine they were riding around getting into adventures and slaughtering orcs. I'd watch that movie.

Any popular property with strong male heroes of a lighter pigmentation will be “reimagined” into stupid wokedom which will damage the brand going forward. They will lose money, but win another fight against “white supremacy” and “the patriarchy”.
They know exactly what they’re doing and the DEI money game prevents them from feeling the pain.

The writers just kind of… forgot that Sauron dissipated when the ring melted.

As a fan of anime, animation, and fantasy, such as LOTRs, count me out.
I also don’t hate watch. I simply won’t watch.
