To make this list, however, it was clear that parameters needed to be established. Here were ours: first, this list must only take into account films, not TV series or stage performances. Second, it should only take into account films released post-2000. If you’re wondering why this or that actor was omitted from the list, the year 2000 cutoff might well be the reason. (Some of the greatest living actors, such as Meryl Streep, Al Pacino, and Gene Hackman, are casualties of this rule.)

There are many factors that an actor is judged upon – range, consistency, depth, choice of roles – but no exact formula. Some of these inclusions, and omissions, may not be to everyone’s liking, but they were not arrived at flippantly – and there was plenty of disagreement even among the writers of this piece.

3, maybe 4 belong on that list. That's a terrible list.

I usually don’t like lists like these, but it’s far from a shitshow.

Man I’d give just about anything for him to remain and see what else he did in his career

You never got a mailed in performance from him. He always brings it .

Well, this has been a crappy century so far, so of course a list of SIXTY is going to get thin.

I quickly scrolled that list to see who I thought the best female was and I’ve determined that actresses in general don’t have a shite ton of range.

Honestly Amy Adams, JLaw, and Stone might be the 3 that at least play a bunch of different types of characters (regardless of how well they do it)

I saw PSH in Death of a Salesman on Broadway and he was amazing, thought about it for days afterward. Gone way too soon.

ETA:
Also: Daniel Kaluuya

I saw Emma Stone trending on Twitter and this list was why. Everyone found it hilarious.

To be clear, she played a Hawaiian in Aloha. She is not actually part Hawaiian.
