The Walt Disney Company has made some huge strides to improve representation across the board, and the Star Wars galaxy is no different.
Last year, transgender and non-binary actor Zoe Terakes was cast in the upcoming project Ironheart, becoming the second openly trans actor to appear in the Marvel cinematic universe after Zack Barack from Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019.
It looks like Lucasfilm is taking notes, too. The Acolyte is set to introduce one of the most diverse casts to date and comes after the award-winning Andor starred in Star Wars' first-ever prominent lesbian couple.

The Acolyte is shaping up to bring even more diversity to the galaxy far, far away.
According to her agency United Agents, British actress Abigail Thorn is due to play Ensign Eurus in The Acolyte, making her Star Wars' first-ever transgender actor in a non-minor role.
Thorn joins an exclusive list of transgender actresses who have starred in a Lucasfilm project, becoming the second-ever trans actor after Talisa Garcia was cast in Wilow.
Non-binary actor Amanda Steinberg will also star in The Acolyte, and this means that the upcoming series is shaping up to be one of the most inclusive yet.

The Oracles of YouTube assured us that this series was dead.

That tranny actor did a lot of good for Willow. I imagine this series will see similar success.

No one outside the LGBTQ+ANUS crowd considers having someone with a dysmorphic disorder to be a necessary criteria for watching a movie or show (unless it's a show about people with said disorder, of course).

I love the logic fail of their trying to imply that Andor's success was due to having lesbians and then trying to apply that as a reason why they think The Acolyte will be a success.

I actually don't mind the concept of casting someone like this in Star Wars if it was handled well but it won't be. This will be a cudgel to beat us relentlessly with.
If they cast this person and basically said that it was part of a race of people that had no sex or genders and essentially bred asexually, it would be just part of the universe. they will show this person as an enlightened human that has made the brave decision though and I have no desire to be lectured.
I grew up a huge Star Wars fan and I find myself watching less and less these days. I really enjoyed Bad Batch season 1 but haven't seen season 2 nor have I seen Andor.

Imo Andor is the best SW content outside of the original trilogy. It’s really outstanding and the lesbo “relationship”is a minor point consisting of 2 scenes, 1 of which it’s only hinted at. It is however obviously box checking (which we’ve been told on here is not happening)

This is what those dumb shits over a Disney do not comprehend. The Star Wars universe is already organically diverse. Putting crap like this front and center is why their projects fail and amazes me since they can literally print money if they stop going this route and just put out a good story, but it seems they are incapable of doing so.

I can't possibly watch it any less than I was already not going to watch it.

This show is going to be an unmitigated disaster. This is what setting money on fire looks like.

Can’t wait to not see this

i look forward to this show making no money, getting terrible viewer reviews, outstanding critical reviews, and being told that the only reason it failed was because we're all a bunch of racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynist, incels who hate everyone that isnt just like us.

I loved Andor, and i honestly don't even remember lesbians in the show.

Just curious. Has there been someone cast that was that other way?
You know, born a woman, claims to now be a man, and has been cast that way?
ETA: I'm not aware of Ellen/Elliot Page being cast in anything since the mental illness kicked in.

Social justice types do more wish-casting than honest assessments. They're not telling you what's actually true, they're telling you what they wish would be true.

Politics aren’t keeping me from watching andor and bad batch 2. I was going through my divorce when they came out. They were both shows I would have watched as they released if not for bad timing but I am not excited enough about Star Wars anymore to drop back to watch them unless I’m out of other things.
I would be the same way with marvel stuff too.
