“The Americans” is the best show of the past decade.

IMO of course. I’m not usually a slow burn guy, but I’ve never been sucked into a show or characters like that out of nowhere. It ruled my TV for a few weeks. There are some shows I consider close, but the Americans feels like the red headed step child of great TV from the 2010s. It should get more love.
ETA: Philip knocking Paige down a peg was one of the most satisfying moments I’ve ever seen in a TV show.

I just finished a watch of this show for the first time
I really enjoyed it. It does feel forgotten or lost to time already though when people bring up elite tv from this time period
Some great music too . And some solid sex scenes as well.

The past decade? You need to get out more.

I can name five South Korean shows off the top of my head made in the last few years they are better

I liked it, but I remember feeling like some of the middle seasons dragged a bit.
Also, it introduced me to an entirely new way to 69.

Whoo boy. I just finished this show. Lots to unpack here...
It is not the best show and there are some serious flaws like most shows.
Elizabeth should have died. She was a true believer and didn't have much of a soul.
I didn't like the ending. I'll leave it at that.

I would’ve needed therapy if I saw my parents doing that , like the girl in the show did

Incognito Keri Russell is every girl that I got set-up with in college except hot.

In my opinion, the last 20 mins of that show was fantastic.
The parking garage with Stan, struggle of what to do with Henry, Paige getting off the train, them arriving in Russia totally broken....the music just spot on.

Really was a great finale
I’d heard that for years and was so excited to get to the finale, and was worried maybe it wouldn’t live up to the hype as few finales do
But they nailed it.

She got a fate worse than death. She won't ever get to see her kids. Her son will hate her and probably go hardcore in the other direction because of what she did. She didn't accomplish her goal and her daughter's life will be as bad or worse than hers.
And she has to reconcile that every day in a country she's no longer familiar with and much worse off than the comfort she left, no matter how much she claimed to hate that comfort.
There were some truly sympathetic characters. I felt for the secretary that "married" "Clark".

Not really, it was ok, but it was not the best show.

This board, or maybe an age group on it, loves this show. I've started it twice, and never finished it. Was an adult during the time period in which it's set. I lived through those years. Just don't have much interests in likeable Soviet spies.

You don't like one of the best show finales of all time? It was almost perfect.

Absolutely one of the best shows of all time. Also has one of the best and most satisfying finales ever.

Any show that can get my commie-hating, red-blooded Reagan America arse rooting for KGB agents is damned solid writing and acting no matter how you slice it.
Fantastic show from start to finish that absolutely stuck the landing.
