This is purely subjective and y'all are welcome to flame away at me and provide your own favorites. However, these are the songs from each decade that I feel topped the others from that same period for one reason or another:
1930s: "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" from The Wizard of Oz
1940s: "White Christmas" from Holiday Inn
1950s: "Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing" from Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing
1960s: "Moon River" from Breakfast at Tiffany's
1970s: "Theme From Shaft" from Shaft
1980s: "Take My Breath Away" from Top Gun
1990s: "You'll Be In My Heart" from Tarzan
2000s: "Falling Slowly" from Once
2010s: "Skyfall" from Skyfall
2020s: "Naatu Naatu" from RRR

Skyfall is such a banger and absolutely lets Adele just show off her amazing talent.

An argument can be made for "The Way You Look Tonight"

1970s: "Theme From Shaft" from Shaft
"Last Dance" showcasing the disco era was pretty huge

Phil Collins fan, I take it? The correct answer is "My Heart Will Go On" - Titanic

2000s: "Falling Slowly" from Once
This is the weakest decade. I have no preference

2020s: "Naatu Naatu" from RRR
Its early still, so I'm holding out hope for better

Man the 90s were stacked in this category. Plenty of great songs that didn’t win.
90- Blaze of Glory
91- had three songs from Beauty and the Beast and Everything I Do I Do it For You
92- Friend Like Me
94- Again three songs from Lion King
95- Really Ever Loved A Woman, Moonlight from Sabrina and You’ve Got a Friend in Me.
96- Finally Found Someone, Because You Loved Me, That Thing You Do
98- I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing
For a few years there Bryan Adams and Celine really had a monopoly on Oscar performances.

Dear God, the 80s songs were amazing. There’s multiple nominees in almost every year that would have won in weaker years.
Respect your opinion, but I think the 90s has way better songs than the Tarzan one. It’s not even the best Disney winner, IMO.
Beauty & the Beast, A Whole New World, & Can You Feel the Love Tonight are much stronger winners.
Even the Madonna songs You Must Love Me from Evita and Sooner or Later from Dick Tracy are better and more memorable.
My Heart Will Go On is, hands down, the song from that decade that had the most impact.
For the 00s, I’m partial to Into the West from LOTR, but that’s also my favorite movie. What a crap decade for this category.
Don’t disagree with you on Skyfall, but Let It Go was a much bigger hit. If I’m considering the overall impact and success of the song, I might choose that one performed by the wickedly talented, one and only Adele Dazeem.
No Time to Die turned me into a Billie Eilish fan. I like that one better than Naatu Naatu which benefited from a weak slate that year.

90s is easily my heart will go on and 2010 is let it go (frozen).
I'd choose lose yourself by Eminem for 2000s

The Tarzan theme wasn’t even the best nominee that year, let alone the decade.
