Underrated movie, incredible cinematography, excellent soundtrack and one of Kirk Douglas’ best roles (two of them actually).
But whatever happened to all the stars in this 1982 sleeper hit?

One of my favorite movies growing up
Always got chills when Jim jumps the cliff at the end and rides down the mountain.

Love this movie. Also, Return to Snowy River. One of my most emotional movie memories is when ***Spoiler, I guess*** Denny gets shot riding down the hill, and Jim wakes up and realizes what happened. I had crocodile tears.

Forever I thought George Miller, the famed Mad Max creater/director made Snowy River.
.. Then I found out a few years ago it was actually a different, English guy named George Miller, not the Australian genius.
Either way, I love this film. Takes me back so much to when I was a kid and the whole family would sit around on a Saturday night and watch rented movies.
The soundtrack is great, the acting is surprisingly good too, not just from Douglas, who is wonderful. I miss these kinds of movies... Everything about everything just seemed more enjoyable then.
This movie made me want to go live on a lush green mountain cabin, crisp fog rolling over the mounds with the Crack of a fire burning inside.
