Title: “The Jedi”

Synopsis: The Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey through a dangerous galaxy.

Duration: 45 min

Released: Friday, Nov 27, 2 AM CST

Directed by: Dave Filoni

Appearances:
• Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian
• Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon
• Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano

Notes & Predictions:
• All scenes from the trailer have been shown in the first 4 episodes. So every scene from here on out will be new.
• Ahsoka knew Master Yoda personally. She will recognize The Child as one of his species, and will know that his species is unusually force-sensitive. But I doubt she agrees to take him.
• Ahsoka was not a Jedi, so the title may hint about an actual Jedi appearance. Like Ezra or Luke. Or maybe Ahsoka is back to being a Jedi.
• Also “Jedi” is an invariant noun, so it could be pleural in the title, like “the sheep”. So maybe we see multiple Jedi.
• The Child’s name may be revealed
• Cara Dune joins the New Republic at some point (she’s wearing that badge thingy in her action figure)

I don't recall from rebels, but I'm pretty sure she doesn't contest anyone labeling her a "jedi". Besides being in the order she is a jedi in every other sense and at this point in the universe the jedi are low in numbers, so compared to what's out there she is one of the most authentic jedi there is. I guess her, Obi-Wan, and Yoda are the only jedi that were ever born and raised in the jedi temple on coruscant that still remain alive in the Mandalorian time period. They went through all the long practiced jedi traditions and rites of passage and were padawans to jedi masters.

Ahsoka is close enough to the Jedi that I’m not really gonna parse over those words

In the last four episodes of Clone Wars she is pretty emphatic about not being a Jedi she may have rejoined with Luke but she left her lightsabers with the Graves of the clones that were trying to kill her.

She had white non aligned sabers in Rebels.

What exactly is the significance of this?

For Sith to have red sabers they have to make the Kyber crystals bleed. After Order 66 Ahsoka was hunted by the 6th Brother. The crystals in his sabers called out to her and when she defeated him she took the crystals and healed them, resulting in a white color.

Also, unless you consider force ghost living, Obi-Wan and Yoda are dead during the events of Mandalorian.

Which also indicates that she is completely at balance with the force, neither light or dark.

Which is odd considering how closely she bonded with the Daughter on Mortis, how the Morai follows her, and how she chose the name Ashla when in exile following 66. All signify a significant light side connection.

I don't remember the exact episode, one of the last or the last, but someone calls her a Jedi, and she explicitly states "I'm no Jedi"

Pretty sure the corrupted crystals are red and the “healed” crystals are just white no matter who healed them.

I would like them to explain where the darksaber’s color comes from.

I feel George’s intentions with the Son and Daughter were not to represent the Light and Dark Side. There is never really a named “Light Side” when discussing the Force like there is a Dark Side, at least not with him.

I think the Daughter and Son are meant to be a physical depiction of light and dark sides of the Force (but not embracing the Dark Side like a Sith would). Luke has Rey feel these in TLJ: “... Death and decay… that feeds new life. Warm, cold. Peace, violence.”

To further push this the Father of Mortis, as he is about to kill himself, says this to the Son: “I held hope that you could resist the Dark Side.”
Weird to say of someone many think is supposed to always embrace the Dark Side, right? He’s just the darkness, he didnt have to succumb to it. I suppose the Father’s weakening state + the rise of Dark Side in the galaxy is what helped lead to his Son’s full-on fall when we see him in the show.

I am not sure the people currently at Lucasfilm see it this way but I think it is clear with how Lucas viewed and spoke about the Force in the Originals and Prequels. It was always “The Force” vs the “Dark Side of the Force.” I think Filoni probably knows whats up since he worked with George.

Episode is up.

Didn't take Ahsoka Tano long to show up!

Now we know Baby Yoda's name (Grogu) and his back story.

Grand Admiral Thrawn...

And we are now off to Tython!

But who rescued Grogu from O66? Palp, to run experiments? Who else would have known?

I mean, this basically confirms we will get something on Ezra, right?
