I really don’t know how good this will be. I never read the book, but my wife did back in high school and she said it was the worst thing she’s ever read.

Looks good enough to watch once. I tried a repeat watch with Dunkirk and it just felt different than the initial viewing.

I'm as much of a Nolan fanboy as you'll find...visuals will be great, but boy does it seem like it'll suck.

Tom Holland saying "my dad's coming home" in an American accent is peak cringe.

Why is it so dark? I miss movies with bright colors.

Nope. When are people going to realize Nolan is nothing more than McG with a bigger budget?

It's very interesting to me how you have British actors in a film about ancient Greece adopting American accents. It's also very interesting how Nolan opted for anachronistic words like "dad" in his screenplay to go along with the anachronistic armor. I don't think he's doing a traditional adaptation of this story though I could be wrong.

Lupita Nyong'o is reported to play Helen of Troy in Christopher Nolan's upcoming 2026 epic, The Odyssey.

Agreed

My expectations have been lowered since the first trailer.

Chadamemnon somehow looks even more laughable.

This is going to get good to great critical reviews, make a bunch of money, and this board is going to hate it.

That was definitely a standout. Felt like it was made for the TikTok crowd.

Another unpopular opinion, but having a “name” actor in every single role is kind of distracting. I know it helps box office, and Nolan has the pull now to attract whoever he wants, but I miss the lesser known character actors in some of these roles.

I don’t see the issue. Are we really looking for an all Greek cast with subtitles? Or fake accents? Braveheart was epic but wouldn’t call it authentically Scottish. I thought if I movie had all ethnic cast it was woke. This has white men as main leads but not authentic enough? It’s Nolan. It’s going to be amazing.

Hopefully this isn't Nolan's "Alexander" or "Napoleon".

----At least he didn't have an African or mixed-race Scot heroine, unlike Nolan's casting in this film.

Hiring British actors for a movie set in Greece and having them portray American accents and use American phrases is certainly a choice.

All because Matt Damon has the acting range of a turnip.

Who are the really big guys in the silver armor? I don't recall them from reading this in middle school.
