Continues the trend of the network showing the film in a 4 HR 44min block since 1973.

Only one year, 1999, did the network not show it on Easter weekend, and apparently the outrage was so great, they'll never do it again.

I've probably watched at least a scene of two every year of my life that I can remember. There may have been other old time Hollywood epics that won more awards and had more acclaim, but, for my money, I think it may be greatest of them all.

Cecil B. Demille and Chuck Heston, how can it not be?

It's akin to Its a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve...there's just nothing that can top it on their respective holiday seasons.

I'm gonna get downvoted for this, but I enjoy the Prince of Egypt more.

Great movie. Charlton Heston was and is still one of the best actors to grace Hollywood with his presence. They dont make movies like this one anymore. Looking forward to watching it for the 10th time.

"Gordon Street? Ah, yes, Gordon Street. I once knew a girl who lived on Gordon Street. Long time ago, when I was a young man. Not a day passes I don't think her and the promise that I made which I will always keep. That one perfect day on Gordon Street. That's uh, five blocks up, two over."

I saw Field of Dreams in the theater back in the day. When the Doc turned around and it was Heston, it was like seeing God on the screen. The whole audience buzzed.

You obviously didn't watch John Legend sodomize Jesus Christ Superstar last year.

(The rest of the cast was amazing. Sara Bareilles gave me chills. Legend blew his voice out in rehearsals and sucked.)

Why Moses instead of Jesus of Nazareth for Easter? Jewish holiday instead of Christian?

Walked through the parking lot where they filmed the parting of the Red Sea during a Paramount tour.

Here's a great YouTube video about the making of The Ten Commandments

My grandfather worked at a theater when this movie came out, and back then they had to attend the theater the entire time. He stood through this movie 25 times during its release

I've watched it probably close to every year since a child.

It wasn't until probably my late pre-teen years that I asked why Moses during Easter?

It's a classic and staple, but the correlation was off. And I was raised a fairly strict Catholic. Why is Moses parting the Red Sea during Jesus crucifixion and resurrection?

Are you asking why did they pass over that other movie?
