Neighbor's daughter didn't get a bid for the sorority she wanted and was so upset she transferred to another college.

For those that don’t know about it and don’t know how cutthroat the process is in most of the southern schools.. it will be very enlightening
It’s a big deal at southern schools but it really is on a whole other level at Bama - and not in a particularly good way.

Ole miss used to have metal fencing every so many floors in their stair wells as girls have committed suicide from not getting their bid. This was the early 2000s when I saw this so it could be different now

MTV had reality series called Sorority Life and Fraternity Life back in the early 2000’s. It wasn’t very good but the real nail in the coffin was the second season was filmed at the University of Buffalo. That upstate New York accent from those girls was unbearable.

Add in the social media aspect and here we are.

My sorority has sent out messages nationwide to alums about how we have to be supportive of our chapter at Bama. Can’t wait to see what dumb shite they said/did…

The girl that picked Bama because of TikTok is really unbelievable.

Haven’t seen a bump for this yet, but damn that was a tough watch. Hour and a half of my life I’ll never get back

Total bait and switch from the preview.
It's a waste of time. And probably does not portend well for this new "Max" content.

I thought it kind of sucked

Don’t even bother watching. It’s an unwatchable mess.
This all starts and ends with the director, who, apparently lacking “the goods” to deliver a shocking exposé on Bama sorority life, turns in a confessional about her own experience with alopecia.
I’m not even joking.
It is one of the single worst documentaries I have ever wasted time on. Did not finish it.
Now, I’m not uncaring about people who struggle with conditions they didn’t ask for or can’t do anything about. That’s not the issue.
The issue is that the director should never include themselves in a documentary they are allegedly making about something else. I did not sign up for first person bullshite from a very uninteresting 50 year old grown arse woman.

The only interesting thing was the thick girl that ended up getting into Phi Mu. I though that was a tier 1 house.
The girls they focused on were trashy/ditsy.

I think The Machine shut her down so she had to add all the filler about herself.

It was truly ridiculous and made no sense at all. It was a desperate attempt by her to complete a documentary when she had no material. It just didn't belong and while I feel for her and her condition, she wasn't even sympathetic. It was weird.
Also, the most sorority girl (Shelby) dropped out of the documentary when she figured out what they wanted and that it would be bad for her. Holliday was trashy and a wannabee sorority girl who was never getting a decent bid. Mikayla seemed nice, but not like she even really wanted to be in a sorority and she dropped out of rush. The last girl got into one but they really didn't say much.
Then, they mention one of the girl's sexual attack and 2 others that got roofied. None of those things happened during rush or had anything to do with sororities or rush.
It was a waste of TV time.

The wife and I watched this the other day. There really didn't seem to be any sort of point to it.

When I finished watching I just stared at the tv and was like wtf did I just wasted 1-1/2 hour of my life
It was fricking horrible. The soft spoken mixed girl was actually sweet. I kind of felt bad for her so I was rooting for her only to find out she quit lol
It was the dumbest doc I have ever watched. I was so pumped to watch this
One thing that I did get out of it - there is some fine arse that attend BAMA - not from the 4 girls interviews though.
Also, the BAMA campus looked very impressive on TV
Last, I think this doc actually helped the entire Greek scene at BAMA lol

Turns out that at an individual level, a lot of these girls are just looking to have fun in their glorified social club. Did people watching expect footage of a chapter President reminding members “alright ladies, no blacks, Jews, lesbians, democrats, or fat girls. Go Zeta!”?
The pressure on girls, especially nowadays with social media, is a real thing and an interesting story to tell. But trying to shame the students or UA reeks of a hit piece

She was the best part of the whole thing. She seemed really nice and normal. She figured out that if she had to change herself just to be in a sorority, she didn't need them and would be fine being her!
