That actually sounds like a pretty good Netflix one season series.
The only thing id change, Wendell goes to Grambling but transfers to a bigger school his junior year and wins the heisman there. LSU, Bama, whatever.
And maybe Darcy shouldn’t be Lances widow. She made it pretty clear in the movie that she was only using him to get out of town.

I have similar dreams where I create movies and they’re always fantastic. I always remember them too. Usually after drinking.
I’ve wondered if that’s where great movies come from for the good script writers. It’s like a creative portion of my brain is unlocked during drunken sleep that I can’t tap into otherwise

I like the idea of lance at the end of the movie being a very different character than the beginning and that changing Darcy. Plus there are always stories of people trying to get out of town that end up right back.
I was working nights and watched this on a night off and then went to brainstorming the next night and came up with this plot.

Lance died in a tragic street racing accident years later. Dude couldn't catch a break.

I think Darcy should be a lesbian. That way it would satisfy the woke crowd as well as myself

He went on to coach at Bama and almost ruined Tua's leg

No he didn't. He tripped on a pier in Grand Isle while wearing flip-flops and broke his arm.

I love this movie way too much. Was in middle school at the time and I've probably seen it more than American Pie.

A better question is what happen to the rest of the coaching staff?

Mox said he never played football again so he either quit before the playoffs or they got DQed

I get FSU might have processed Lance but one of the old SWC schools would have taken a flyer on him.
No way a nationally recruited QB is completely out of playing options. Especially back then when it was way more common to sit for 2 years.

High school coaches can hide from this sort of thing. Prob moved to another state and created another dominant program.
Worked for Rush Probst

My exact thought. Probst and Kilmer are one and the same. Kilmer prob moves on to some small southern state and wins a couple titles.

Ehhhh - no. Not even "split".
Mox's girlfriend was hotter IMHO.

the old SWC had already been busted up for 4-5 years by this point.
SMU was still dead, TCU was left out to dry. Maybe Texas Tech would have given him a shot.

Houston, A&M, Arkansas, Tech, Okie state, 90s LSU ect all would have given a 4/5 star FSU commit a call.
He was a student of the game. Coach on the field type.

i feel comfortable speaking for RC Slocum on this point, and I can say that the Aggies definitely would have been willing to give him a shot.
