Vikings is a really bad show

I haven’t watched since season 1, but my wife continued to watch. Tonight I sat down while the current episode was on and it was like Days of Our Lives with Vikings.
Shows like this seemingly exist to waste your time.
My wife wasn’t pleased with my narratives and asked me to leave the room.

After the show was over last night, she and I discussed how the show started, progressed and where it is now. She also considered the content and how it is delivered.
After talking for about an hour she agreed the show is Days of Our Lives With Vikings. She then concluded it was a complete and utter waste of time.
Shows like this seemingly exist to waste your time.

I think I watched the first couple of seasons and thought it was decent enough. Kind of obviously cheap but not terrible. Of course I got bored with it and didn't go back, so I guess that says something. I could see them not knowing when to quit.

I can’t watch any show dramatizing Scandinavian accents it’s always so bad especially since I have actual Scandinavian family and it just sounds retarded when you know what they are supposed to sound like

The problem with Vikings is they did a transition to Ragnar's kids instead of spinning them off into their own show. The main characters of the first 2-3 seasons were better than Ragnar's kids who just aren't as good or likable.

It's pretty stupid you base that not off of the one season you watched but instead off of one episode skipping ahead over 3 seasons. The show has made huge transitions in story lines and a bunch of new characters you've never seen.

I got tired pretty quickly of them raping, torturing, and murdering innocent peasants, then the show asking me to like them and empathize with them. frick Floki or Hagar the Horrible or whatever. I don't care about your troubles if I just watched you and your friends slaughter an entire village of defenseless farmers.

It's a show about Vikings. That's kind of what they did. If you haven't watched The Last Kingdom you might like it. It's much more tame, and the people that were probably raping, torturing, and murdering, TLK just has them as good guys and not really evil at all.
I'm not that crazy about TLK, the main character is kind of bland and I dont like it as much for the reasons above, but I do want to read the books.

I found it hard to stay interested once the focus shifted to the kids. After a while I lost track of what time periods they were supposed to be jumping over

Stopped watching shortly after they killed off Ragnar, and tried to convince me that the women in that culture could physically compete with and lead the men.
