Why are the MTV VMAs on so many channels right now?

They even have it on Nickelodeon which is kind of weird. Propaganda? Brainwashing the minds of our youth?

Its the only thing they have that gets any semblance of a decent rating.

Pretty sure they’ve done this since the last time I watched the VMAs, which is probably going on like 15 years now

The have been doing this for years.

I was coming here to see if this thread existed yet. I counted nine different channels just on regular basic cable. Crazy.
I know they’ve shown it on multiple channels before, but I don’t recall seeing this many.

They're probably airing it on every Viacom network because MTV is not even a network anymore and the VMA's are so pathetic and irrelevant that they've got blast half your cable package to get anyone to watch.
There will also be mass anti-Trump sentiment so CBS/Viacom, an extremely radical company, will try to get as many eyeballs as possible to see these lunatics spout nonsense.

Which year was it when there was an army of Eminem lookalikes? 2000? That's the last year I watched any of the VMA's.

quote:This. It’s a way to try and manipulate the ratings crash that has been happening with awards shows. People are tired of entertainers without hardly any education or real world experience lecturing the public in between honoring themselves with awards at some huge circle jerk. It’s why only Ricky Gervais can pull an audience.

Probably due to the completely lack of live TV options for networks due to COVID

Yeah it's 2000. That was probably the best VMA's ever. Mtv reaired a bunch of old VMA's a few months ago. We had a big thread about it. LINKIf you can find it the whole show anywhere, it's an absolute blast to watch.
